Drafted 11th overall by the Houston Rockets in the 1992 NBA draft, Robert Horry made the 1992-93 All-Rookie team. Horry’s career was made after winning back-to-back NBA championships with the Rockets in 1994 and 1995, playing as the starting SF. Big Shot Bob was traded to the Suns and then traded again to the Lakers the following season where he would earn his nickname.

Horry was a key piece to the Lakers success to kickstart the 21st century, and although he came off the bench in the regular season, Horry would hit two game-winning shots in the NBA Playoffs that proved to be pertinent for LA’s 3-peat. After seven years with the Lakers, Horry signed with the Spurs where he would play five seasons and retire at the age of 37 with a total of seven championships, more than any player in the post-NBA/ABA merger era ever.

BIG SHOT BOB WAS THE MOST CLUTCH ROLE PLAYER IN NBA HISTORY

Horry began his career as a starter and won two rings with the Rockets. After being traded twice, he ended up on the Lakers where he was moved to the bench, but he still played his role and knew his spots. Big Shot Bob truly earned his nickname after hitting game-winning shots in multiple NBA Finals and was a major part of the Lakers 2000s dynasty. Robert Horry has an interesting career to say the least, but with his collection of championships and big shots, he is easily the most clutch role player of all-time.
