Dive into Jayden Daniels' film! This expert analysis reveals why this dynamic QB is destined for NFL MVP awards if healthy. Tape doesn't lie

<ins style="display: block; text-align: center;" data-ad-layout="in-article" data-ad-format="fluid" data-ad-client="ca-pub-6010203342261944" data-ad-slot="8083837485"></ins>

When the Washington Commanders studied college film looking for a future MVP, they selected Jayden Daniels with the second overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. It wasn't just another draft pick, it was a moment decades in the making for a historic franchise yearning for a true franchise QB. Daniels' path to that stage was anything but conventional as a captivating college journey saw him begin as a promising true freshman at Arizona State before blossoming into a Heisman Trophy winner during his final, electrifying season at LSU.

This remarkable progression revealed a player continually refining his craft, showcasing the dedication and adaptability essential for NFL success. Daniels arrived in Washington as the beacon of hope for a fanbase that has dealt with a carousel of quarterbacks since winning their last Super Bowl in 1991. For years, the team has sought stability and stardom under center, an objective that has often felt unreachable.

His exceptional talent, honed through diverse collegiate experiences, offered a fresh start and a tangible reason for optimism. His unique blend of athleticism and a smooth pocket presence, made him as a quarterback with truly unlimited potential from the moment he stepped onto an NFL field. The 2024 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year will be the first of many awards he collects if he can stay healthy.

The inherent pressure on a high draft pick quarterback in the modern NFL is immense, yet Daniels embraced it, quickly becoming the face of a new era in Washington. His background, characterized by perseverance and a relentless drive for improvement, perfectly positioned him for this role. The "eye test" on his early performances confirms what his college trajectory suggested. Daniels is a prime building block, a player whose foundational traits and composure under pressure are rare.

https://twitter.com/NFLFilms/status/1854946077621076452

 MAIN TAKEAWAY

JAYDEN DANIELS WILL BE A FUTURE MVP IF HE STAYS HEALTHY

When the tape rolls on Jayden Daniels, it reveals a quarterback who consistently elevates his game in critical moments, a hallmark of future NFL MVP candidates. His exceptional performance on third and fourth downs is particularly telling; in his rookie campaign, Daniels completed an impressive 69% of his passes, showcasing his ability to convert key plays.

Furthermore, he was perfect, going 12-for-12, on third and fourth-down attempts with one yard to go, making him the only quarterback in the league to maintain a 100% success rate in those high-pressure situations, directly influencing game outcomes.

Daniels’ unparalleled mobile ability adds another dimension to his MVP potential, turning broken plays into game-changing opportunities. He rushed for an astounding 891 yards and 6 touchdowns in his rookie season, breaking the NFL rookie quarterback rushing record previously held by Robert Griffin III. His proficiency at extending plays is evident in his film, where he frequently escapes pressure to gain crucial yardage or find open receivers downfield, consistently affecting defensive schemes.

Beyond the raw numbers, Daniels possesses an undeniable clutch factor. He recorded five passing touchdowns in the final 30 seconds or overtime, which is two more than any other quarterback (rookie or veteran) in a single season since the 1970 merger. This ability to deliver when it matters most, combined with his record-breaking dual-threat capabilities, paints a clear picture of a quarterback on an undeniable trajectory towards being a future NFL MVP as long as he can stay healthy with his current frame and playstyle.

Uncover the NFL's brightest young stars! See the top 5 best players under age-25 who are shaping the league's future including great rookies

The current NFL landscape isn't just seeing a "youth movement", it's experiencing a seismic shift, a revolution where NFL best rising stars under 25 years old are not merely showing potential, but actively leading their teams to victory and shattering long-held expectations. Forget the old adage of players needing years to develop, these select players are different.

They're hitting the ground running, transforming what it means to be a truly elite NFL player in their early 20s. What's truly fascinating is why this is happening. It's more than just luck. The game itself has evolved, with a heightened emphasis on athleticism, speed, and scheme versatility, favoring players who are genetically gifted and have been training with professional intensity since high school.

Furthermore, the rookie wage scale, put into effect with the 2011 Collective Bargaining Agreement, dramatically changed team building. Gone are the days of top draft picks holding out for exorbitant, uncapped contracts that could cripple a team's salary cap for years. First round picks now arrive on structured, cost-controlled deals, freeing up significant cap space for general managers to surround their young cornerstones with veteran talent.

This creates an unparalleled competitive advantage: imagine having a Pro Bowl-caliber player delivering elite performance at a fraction of a veteran's market value. This strategic incentive has led to teams aggressively targeting talent that can contribute immediately. We're seeing rosters trending younger, as evidenced by teams like the Green Bay Packers, who started the 2024 NFL season with an average roster age of 25 years, 7 months, and 25 days, making them the youngest in the league.

It's a clear signal that franchises are banking on youth, and it's paying off. The future of the NFL isn't some distant promise, it's unfolding right before our eyes, powered by these extremely talented athletes who are already carving out their legacies before their 25th birthdays. All players must be 24 years old or younger as of July 1, 2025.

As one of the most physically dominating Wide Receivers in the NFL, here are the 5 most astounding AJ Brown records the star already has

As Philadelphia Eagles fans celebrate AJ Brown on his 28th birthday, check out some of the best records to know about the legendary Wide Receiver.

AJ Brown was drafted 51st overall in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft. The 6'1" 226-lb Wide Receiver made an easy transition to the NFL utilizing his long arms, huge frame, and elite speed as he broke the 1,000 yard receiving mark in his rookie season. Brown finished his rookie season 3rd in Rookie of the Year voting but had a stellar first year averaging over 20 yards per reception.

The Mississippi native stayed close to home after high school, attending The University of Mississippi where he and D.K. Metcalf put together one of the most dominant Wide Receiver duos in the Southeastern Conference. Both Brown and Metcalf were in the spotlight leading up to the 2019 NFL Draft due to their massive physiques often not seen at the receiving position.

The former Titans star racked up almost 3,000 receiving yards during his three years with the franchise, embarrassing many DBs along the way with his incredible contested-catch abilities. Following his three seasons with the Titans, Brown was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles during the 2022 NFL Draft where he's taken his game to a new level alongside DeVonta Smith and Jalen Hurts en route to a Lombardi Trophy. #11 is sure to find his targets anywhere on the field as he has established himself as one of the most difficult Wide Receivers to stop in the NFL.

Cam Ward's ascent from an overlooked recruit to the NFL's top draft pick is a testament to his unwavering determination and exceptional talent. Beginning his collegiate career at Incarnate Word, Ward quickly made a name for himself by throwing 47 touchdown passes in 2021, showcasing his prowess even at the FCS level.

Seeking greater challenges, he transferred to Washington State, where he continued to impress with his arm strength and field vision. In 2024, Ward made a strategic move to the University of Miami, aiming to elevate his draft prospects and capitalize on NIL opportunities. At Miami, Ward delivered a standout season, passing for 4,313 yards and 39 touchdowns against just seven interceptions. His performance earned him the ACC Player of the Year award, consensus All-American honors, and a fourth-place finish in the Heisman Trophy voting.

Ward's leadership propelled the Hurricanes to a 10–3 record and a No. 13 national ranking. Cumulatively, across his collegiate career, he amassed 11,281 passing yards and 87 touchdowns, setting the Division I record for career touchdown passes with 158 (when combined with the 71 career PASS TD at the FCS level).

The Tennessee Titans recognized Ward's potential, selecting him as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. He subsequently signed a fully guaranteed four-year, $48.7 million contract. Ward's journey from a zero-star recruit to the NFL's top draft pick underscores his resilience and the high expectations surrounding his professional career. Let's break down his specific areas of mastery and where there's room for improvement for him to live up to his potential as a future superstar Hall of Famer.

January 12, 2013: "Mile High Miracle" saw the Ravens stun the Broncos in one of the greatest NFL playoff games. Relive this historic event

The "Mile High Miracle" is a legendary moment in NFL history that took place on January 12, 2013 during the AFC Divisional Playoff game between the Baltimore Ravens and the Denver Broncos. This iconic play, which occurred in the closing seconds of the game, has since become one of the most unforgettable finishes in football. With the Ravens trailing by a field goal and time running out, quarterback Joe Flacco launched a 70-yard pass to Jacoby Jones, who made a spectacular catch in the end zone, securing the Ravens a dramatic victory.

This remarkable game-tying touchdown pass, later dubbed the "Mile High Miracle," propelled Baltimore to an AFC Championship appearance and eventually led them to win Super Bowl XLVII. What made the Mile High Miracle so extraordinary was not just the length of the pass, but the way it unfolded under immense pressure.

At the time, the Broncos had one of the most potent defenses in the league, and their star player, Peyton Manning, had delivered a clutch performance in the final minutes to give them a lead. However, Flacco’s deep throw and Jones' incredible reception stunned both the Broncos' defense and their fans, taking the Ravens to the next level. It became a defining moment for both players, with Flacco earning the moniker "Joe Cool" for his poise in critical situations, and Jones becoming a hero in Baltimore's postseason lore.

The Mile High Miracle is not only a defining play for the Ravens' 2013 Super Bowl run during Ray Lewis' final season but also an unforgettable chapter in the NFL history. It cemented Joe Flacco’s reputation as a clutch quarterback and remains in the conversation for one of the greatest NFL playoff games ever.

On the same day, Colin Kaepernick ran for 181 yards against the Green Bay Packers to lead the San Francisco 49ers to the NFC Championship, preceeding a Harbaugh Bowl in the final game. Kap's 181 yards are still the most by a Quarterback during a single game in NFL history (regular or postseason).

MEMORABLE “MILE HIGH MIRACLE” PLAY DEFINED LEGACIES

The “Mile High Miracle” was a turning point in NFL playoff history, with a lasting impact on the legacies of Joe Flacco, Ray Lewis, and head coach John Harbaugh. Flacco’s incredible 70-yard touchdown pass to Jacoby Jones not only tied the game in the final seconds but also solidified his reputation as one of the most clutch quarterbacks in postseason history. This performance was the cornerstone of Flacco’s historic playoff run, culminating in a Super Bowl MVP award after leading the Ravens to victory in Super Bowl XLVII.

The play also established Flacco as an elite quarterback under pressure, redefining perceptions of his career. For Ray Lewis, the Mile High Miracle was instrumental in his final postseason journey, allowing him to retire as a two-time Super Bowl champion. Lewis’ leadership and defensive prowess throughout the playoffs were critical, but the win over Denver symbolized his team’s resilience and determination.

The dramatic victory further cemented Lewis as one of the greatest linebackers and leaders in NFL history, with his final season becoming a storybook ending to an iconic career. The impact extended beyond the players, with John Harbaugh’s coaching earning significant praise for the team’s preparation and mental toughness. The Ravens’ improbable victory validated Harbaugh’s leadership style and emphasized his ability to navigate high-pressure situations.

The win also helped reshape the narrative of the Ravens as a franchise, showcasing their ability to overcome adversity and compete against the league’s best. The “Mile High Miracle” remains a defining moment, not only for the individuals involved but for the legacy of the Baltimore Ravens as a whole. It remains one of the most memorable and intense playoff games in recent history that help define what postseason football means to many fans across the globe.

If you want to make money from the NFL on Wild Card Sunday, see why this bet is worth the wager including advanced metrics, insights, & odds

As three NFL Wild Card games take place on Sunday, January 12th, 2025, check out why this one bet is worth the wager.

Disclaimer: Never bet above what you can afford to lose. For some people that's $100K, for others that's $1. Let's explore why we have a good chance to double whatever that number is today instead of losing it.

As the NFL playoffs kick off, two highly anticipated Wild Card matchups feature rookie quarterbacks making their postseason debuts: Jayden Daniels leads the Washington Commanders against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while Bo Nix takes charge for the Denver Broncos against the Buffalo Bills.

The Washington Commanders have undergone a remarkable turnaround this season, led by the 2023 Heisman Trophy winner and likely 2024 NFL Rookie of the Year, Jayden Daniels. Daniels showcased his dual-threat abilities in his NFL debut against the Buccaneers during Week 1 earlier this season, where he passed for 184 yards, rushed for 88 yards, and scored two total touchdowns.

The Commanders under head coach Dan Quinn finished the regular season with a 12-5 record and have been an offensive force in both passing and rushing situations, with Daniels setting a new NFL record for rushing yards by a rookie quarterback with 891, breaking Robert Griffin III's record from 2012 with the same franchise.

As great as Daniels was during the regular season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers bring playoff experience and resilience. Veteran QB Baker Mayfield has led Tampa Bay to their fifth straight playoff appearance and another NFC South division title. While the Buccaneers triumphed over Washington in Week 1, both teams have evolved significantly since that early meeting.

In the AFC, the Denver Broncos are back in the playoffs for the first time since their Super Bowl 50 victory. Rookie QB Bo Nix has been the cornerstone of their success, capping the regular season with a stellar performance in their playoff-clinching win. The Broncos finished 10-7, securing the seventh seed for the right to go into Buffalo.

Meanwhile, the Buffalo Bills, led by star quarterback Josh Allen, have established themselves as a perennial powerhouse, finishing the season with a 13-4 record and the AFC's second seed. Allen’s consistency and explosive offense set a high bar for Denver’s defense. These matchups set the stage for thrilling battles during NFL's wild card weekend, showcasing the future of the league that puts promising rookies against seasoned playoff contenders.

1st Reason: Josh Allen can single-handedly win games and Denver will have their cut out for them to stop the passing & rushing attacks

2nd Reason: The Bucs are rolling since Mike Evans returned and the defense gets star S Antoine Winfield Jr. & CB Jamel Dean back

3rd Reason: Jayden Daniels & Bo Nix are starting their 1st career Playoff games while Baker Mayfield & Allen have postseason experience

COUNTERPOINT

Every bet has a chance of not hitting but based on the value (-106 odds), this one is worth the wager. However, if it doesn’t hit, it’ll most likely be because of these reasons:

POINT 1: Buffalo’s reliance on Josh Allen’s heroics can sometimes backfire, especially if Allen forces plays that lead to turnovers. In a single-elimination scenario, a couple of costly errors could swing the game in Denver’s favor.

POINT 2: Jayden Daniels has the dual-threat capability to challenge the Buccaneers’ defense. Daniels’ mobility could exploit Tampa Bay’s occasional struggles against mobile quarterbacks, giving Washington a chance to control the game.

POINT 3: Sean Payton and Dan Quinn are arguably better coaches than Sean McDermott and Todd Bowles which could prove to be a huge advantage in a playoff setting.

Disclaimer: Never bet above what you can afford to lose. For some people that's $100K, for others that's $1. Let's explore why we have a good chance to double whatever that number is today instead of losing it.

NFL Week 18 often serves as the pivotal finale of the regular season, where playoff dreams are made or shattered, and player performances take center stage. This year, all eyes are on Mike Evans, Courtland Sutton, and Geno Smith as they have millions of dollars of incentives and team's playoff hopes on the line. With Evans leading the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Sutton anchoring the Denver Broncos’ offense, and Smith guiding the Seattle Seahawks, these players are poised for breakout performances against opponents with contrasting stakes.

Mike Evans, known for his consistency as one of the NFL’s elite wide receivers, enters Week 18 looking to solidify another 1,000-yard season. Facing the New Orleans Saints, Evans will be critical in breaking through a defense that has struggled at times in coverage. Similarly, Courtland Sutton, a key piece in the Denver Broncos’ passing attack, has a crucial matchup against a Kansas City Chiefs team that already has its playoff seeding locked in, meaning mostly backups will be taking the field.

With Denver's season hanging in the balance, Sutton’s ability to exceed expectations could dictate their offensive success. Meanwhile, Geno Smith leads a Seattle Seahawks squad looking to spoil the Los Angeles Rams vibes entering the Postseason as they'll also be deploying backup players on the field in LA.

Smith, who knows Seattle could be looking for a new signal-caller in the draft this year, also has current contract incentives on the line in what could be a financially defining performance of his career. These individual matchups not only highlight the stakes of Week 18 but also underscore the thrilling narratives that make the NFL’s regular season finale a can’t-miss event.

Scroll down to see why this parlay bet with 3 legs for +102 ODDS is worth the wager on January 5, 2025 in Week 18:

2nd Reason: Geno Smith has to ball out for current contract incentives and future contract negotiations against a backup Rams defense.

3rd Reason: Kansas City is resting their key defensive starters against a Denver team needing to win with Sutton highly incentivized to get 82+ receiving yards on Sunday.

COUNTERPOINT

Every bet has a chance of not hitting but based on the value (+102 odds), this one is worth the wager. However, if it doesn’t hit, it’ll most likely be because of these reasons:

POINT 1: Knowing these 3 players’ incentives could influence offensive game plans, the defensive game plans might be to focus on stopping these players from excelling against them.

POINT 2: With more important things at stake for the team, it won’t be a priority to feed Mike Evans and Courtland Sutton if they’re getting double covered or not open on most plays.

POINT 3: Geno Smith only needs 185 passing yards for incentive-purposes and might not quite reach the full 200 as he plays conservatively to ensure he has a 70% completion percentage

Discover why Barry Sanders is known as the shiftieѕt running back ever. Explore his legacy that changed the Detroit Lions and NFL forever

Barry Sanders is known for many things, but being the most elusive and shifty running back in NFL history stands out as one of his defining traits. With his uncanny ability to change direction and leave defenders grasping at air, Sanders set a new standard for running backs. His incredible agility, combined with lightning-fast speed and impeccable vision, made him a nightmare for opposing defenses.

Throughout his career with the Detroit Lions, Sanders was never afraid to take on a challenge, often making something out of nothing. His highlight reels are filled with jaw-dropping moves—spins, cuts, and quick accelerations—that still leave fans in awe to this day. Despite playing for a Lions team that wasn’t always playoff-contending, Sanders consistently proved he could carry the team on his shoulders, rushing for over 1,000 yards in every season of his career. His ability to evade tackles and rack up yardage with seemingly no space to run solidified his place as one of the most dynamic playmakers in the history of the NFL.

While he retired early, Sanders left a legacy of being a game-changer, not only due to his impressive statistics but also for the pure excitement he brought to every game. To this day, he remains the benchmark for shifty running backs and continues to inspire players who try to emulate his distinctive style of play that got him enshrined into the Hall of Fame as one of the greatest Running Backs of all time.

BARRY SANDERS IS THE SHIFTIEST RB EVER & GREATEST LIONS PLAYER IN HISTORY

Barry Sanders is widely considered the shiftiest running back ever to play in the NFL, known for his unparalleled agility and ability to make defenders miss in the open field. Sanders’ quick, sudden cuts, elusive footwork, and effortless ability to change direction on a dime made him a nightmare for defenses. With a career that spanned from 1989 to 1998, he amassed over 15,000 rushing yards with plenty of jaw-dropping runs that demonstrate his unmatched vision and elusiveness.

His ability to evade tacklers, often reversing field to create space, made him one of the most unpredictable and exciting players to watch in NFL history. Not only is Sanders regarded as the shiftiest back ever, but he is also considered the greatest running back in Detroit Lions history. Sanders holds virtually every significant rushing record for the franchise, including career rushing yards, rushing touchdowns, and total yards from scrimmage.

Despite never winning a Super Bowl, his combination of speed, vision, and moves made him an offensive weapon that was second to none during his time. His remarkable ability to maintain consistency in a franchise that struggled to build a competitive team around him only further solidifies his legacy as one of the greatest to ever run the rock.

Beyond his Lions’ success, Sanders is often mentioned in discussions about the best running backs in NFL history. His unique combination of patience, burst, and shiftiness allowed him to dominate games, consistently ranking among the league’s top rushers. He retired prematurely at the peak of his career, leaving fans to wonder just how much more he could have achieved had he continued playing. Regardless, his legacy remains firmly intact, cementing his place as one of the greatest athletes to ever step on the gridiron.

Despite the lack of credit that these players often receive, Offensive Linemen are the backbone of any team's scoring attack. They are usually some of the toughest, most durable players on any squad, which is necessary due to the physically demanding nature of the position. Football fans may not pay much attention to the Offensive Line's contributions because of the flashy nature of other players, but very few NFL teams have succeeded without quality line play.

Offensive Linemen are tasked with protecting their Quarterback to the ends of the Earth, as the signal-caller is usually the most important player on the team. They must create a pocket that the QB can safely maneuver within and have time to read the field and connect with open receivers. It is also their job to make sure Defensive players don't get to hit their Quarterback, whether that be through sound blocking or physical punishment.

Additionally, Offensive Linemen are expected to open up running lanes for their Running Backs to utilize. A dominant ground game allows a team to win the time of possession battle, which can shift the advantage in a game. Offensive Lines work as a unit on complex blocking schemes that both protect their Quarterback, but also get their Running Backs into the second level of the defense.

This list has some of the greatest Offensive Linemen of all time from many different eras of football, whether it be the run-heavy style of the 1960s and 1970s or the more modernized passing game of the 2000s. Each player was dominant in his own way, but all of them were invaluable to their offensive units.
