The Golden State Warriors currently sit in 10th place amongst the Western Conference standings. This is not a position this franchise is accustomed to being in given their recent success, especially with only 21 games left in the season. In this abnormal year, 10th is enough to earn them a play-in opportunity, but Golden State is not satisfied with that.

GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS WILL NEED SUPER STEPH TO SURVIVE DOWN THE STRETCH

COLORS KEY | FULL WARRIORS OUTLOOK

If they are going to turn their season around and climb up the rankings, a lot of the weight will be on the shoulders of the greatest shooter ever, Steph Curry. Unsurprisingly, much of this team’s success rides on Curry to put together consistent performances. This roster is one of the weaker Warriors ones in recent years given the departure of Kevin DurantAndre Iguodala, and the injury to Klay Thompson, but with Curry playing at his peak, anything is possible.

Curry had 41 points against Milwaukee on Tuesday night, 30 of which came in the second half. He shot 50% from three and 66.7% from the field. This was still barely enough to come out with the dub. Chef Curry will have to put together many more of these kinds of ridiculous stat lines to pull his team up the standings and position his squad better come postseason time. Similar to James Harden’s historic run in January 2019 and LeBron during the 2018 playoffs, this next month or two will define how ‘super’ Steph really is.
