Drafted out of Notre Dame by the Seahawks in the second round of the 2010 NFL draft, Golden Tate found himself coming off the bench behind Mike Williams and Deon Butler his first two seasons. In 2012, Tate got bumped up into the starting lineup and more than doubled his REC YDS and RED TD’s, quickly becoming one of Russell Wilson‘s favorite targets. Tate continued to improve, and became a Super Bowl Champion with the Seahawks after helping them destroy the Broncos 43-8.

The following season, Tate signed a five-year deal with the Lions where he showcased his skills with Matt Stafford throwing the ball to him. In three of his four and a half seasons with the Lions, Tate recorded at least 1,000 REC YDS and 62 REC YDS/game. Tate was traded to the Eagles for the last half of his contract year in 2018 and caught a clutch TD to beat Chicago in the postseason.

GOLDEN TATE WAS 1 OF THE MOST UNDERRATED WRs OF THE 2010s

Golden Tate won a Super Bowl with Seattle and was selected to the 2014 Pro Bowl, among his accomplishments during the 2010s. Tate was as consistent as they come, with his catch% over the decade sitting at 66.7% as he was rarely responsible for a crucial drop. That is higher than Julio Jones, DeAndre Hopkins, Antonio Brown and Larry Fitzgerald from 2010-2019.

While he did not have nearly as many REC YDS or TD’s as the top-tier 2010s WRs, Tate was an integral part of every team he went to and became a favorite of two elite QBs, Russell Wilson and Matt Stafford. At his best, Tate always found a way to come down with the football, was better than the best when it comes to Catch%, and always helped his team win games. His highlight reel includes one of the most savage and clutch TDs in NFL history while his YAC and missed tackle production show his value during the decade.
