MARSHON LATTIMORE’S PERFORMANCE HAS DECLINED SINCE ELITE ROOKIE SEASON

Marshon Lattimore was a beast for New Orleans during his rookie season and graded out as one of the top Cornerbacks in the NFL. However, his play has fallen off drastically on a snap-by-snap basis since entering the league in 2017. He’s still been responsible for guarding opposing No.1 WR’s on a week-in, week-out basis which doesn’t make his job very easy and the tougher matchups could be contributing to his decline on the field.
New Orleans is now paying him like a legitimate No.1 CB, but it appears to be more for his Pro Bowl (x3) recognition than his PFF advanced grades. Lattimore has been prone to crucial penalties and big plays behind him in recent years, which has hurt the team at times but he’s an overall high-quality CB who will be staying in the Big Easy for a while, helping solidify what was recently a suspect defensive backfield after Brian Poole‘s season-ending injury.
