Engaging in sports with a partner can have great advantages for those relationships. It gives you a chance to share a passion, and it can always be a positive topic of conversation. Depending on the sport, it can create a great sense of adventure as you go to a new and exotic place to rock climb or skydive, for example. Sports are also a great way to help keep each other in shape and protect your health. Also, it can set a great example for your children to follow. Children, at least young children, tend to mimic their parents, so you will want your example to be as positive as possible. Here are a few sports to try:

Jogging

Yes, this is a pretty plain and simple one, but it is so convenient. All you have to do is don the running shoes, and out you go. You can egg each other on, chat while you jog, and there is no set pace to how fast or far you want to go. It is entirely up to you both. Jogging with your partner can definitely make it a lot more fun than jogging alone, and it can help you stay motivated and drive you on to do events. Jogging is a fantastic exercise for your body – it burns loads of calories, opens up your lungs, and improves your heart health too, among other things.

Cycling

Cycling is a great sports activity to do with your partner and even the kids too. You can take the bikes with you to certain tracks, like a mountain bike track in the countryside, and mix in some physical activity with a scenic tour. Cycling can be a lot of fun, and it has some clear health benefits associated with it too. It can also become a family activity.

Tennis

Watching and playing tennis is a great way to spend hours of time with your partner. It is a fast-paced sport, so you are definitely getting your quota of exercise every time you play. You will also increase your hand-eye coordination and arm strength too. When you start getting good enough to have rallies, that is when you will really start to enjoy it. Then you may want to enter a few local competitions too. Mixed doubles are always fun and can help you meet new people while you are at it too.

More Extreme Sports

There is no reason why you cannot start rock climbing together, skydiving, windsurfing, or even scuba diving. To do these sorts of activities, it will take a little more effort to get out there. However, if you can participate in a more extreme sport, you will have that extra bond. Many couples jog together, but how many go in the ocean looking at coral reefs? If you are interested in scuba diving, why not learn how to do it together at places like Dip ‘N Dive. Developing a passion together will definitely make your relationship stronger too, and it can be accomplished through sports.
