George Springer made a spectacular diving catch, Luis Gonzalez’s first career HR won it for the Giants, and the Mets pulled off a miraculous comeback in St. Louis.

2017: Toronto Blue Jays OF Chris Coghlan memorably flew OVER St. Louis Cardinals C Yadier Molina at home plate to score the run that gave Toronto a 3-2 lead in the 7th inning of the eventual 6-5 11th inning victory 

2001: San Diego Padres OF Rickey Henderson passed Babe Ruth (2,062) for the most walks in MLB history. Henderson finished his HOF career with 2,190 which was surpassed by Barry Bonds who owns the record with 3,558 BB 

1993: Cleveland Cavaliers became the 1st team to lead the league in FG% (49.7)/3PT% (38.1)/FT% (80.2) in NBA history 

1993: Minnesota Timberwolves PG Micheal Williams extended his free throw streak to 84, breaking Calvin Murphy’s previous NBA record of 78 consecutive FTM. Williams’ streak would end at 97 straight, which still stands as the all-time record

1986: San Diego Padres RP Craig Lefferts became the 1st pitcher since 1969 (and the most recent) to hit a walk-off HR

1974: NFL officially moved the goalposts to the back of the end zone and also adopted a “sudden death” overtime to conclude games that ended regulation with a tie score

1950: Boston Celtics selected Duquesne SF Chuck Cooper in the 2nd round of the NBA Draft, making him the very 1st African-American NBA player to be drafted

1901: In their AL debut, the Detroit Tigers mounted a historic comeback win by scoring 10 runs in the bottom of the 9th inning after trailing the Milwaukee Brewers 13-4c
