1976: Baltimore Orioles SP Jim Palmer surpassed Dave McNally for the most career Ks (1,476) in franchise history en route to his 2nd consecutive Cy Young Award. Palmer played his entire 19-year career for the Orioles and recorded 2,212 Ks which still stands as the record today

1927: At just 18 years old, New York Giants OF Mel Ott hit an inside-the-park HR for the very 1st HR of his career; it would be the only inside-the-parker of his 511 career HRs
