1994: Led by C Patrick Ewing’s 24 points and 22 rebounds, the New York Knicks defeated the Indiana Pacers in Eastern Conference Finals Game 7 to reach their 1st NBA Finals since 1973

1992: Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Chicago Bulls in OT during NBA Finals Game 2 as PG Danny Ainge tied a NBA Finals record with 9 of Portland’s 18 points in OT

1991: 1 of the most iconic plays of Michael Jordan‘s career took place in NBA Finals Game 2 where he made a mid-air adjustment on a layup. MJ’s 33 PTS & 13 AST led the Chicago Bulls to their 1st Finals win in franchise history en route to their 1st title

1981: Houston Astros SP Nolan Ryan gave up his 1,776th career walk, passing Early Wynn to become MLB’s all-time leader in BB allowed. Ryan extended the total to 2,795 which still stands as the record today by almost 1,000 more than Steve Carlton‘s 1,833

1977: Portland Trail Blazers C Bill Walton set an NBA Finals record with 8 blocks to go along with 20 points and 23 rebounds in their series-clinching victory over the Philadelphia 76ers as the Finals MVP, capturing Portland’s 1st professional sports Championship in history. Multiple players have tied the Finals BLK record but it’s never been surpassed
