2000: Miami Dolphins QB Dan Marino retired as the NFL’s all-time Passing leader (61,361) at the time after an outstanding career that included the 1984 MVP Award, 3 All-Pro’s, 9 Pro Bowls, and an abundance of NFL records over his 17-year NFL career

1999: Dallas Mavericks PF AC Green played in his 1,000th consecutive game, extending his NBA-record streak that still stands today at 1,192 straight games played

1983: Atlanta Hawks SG Randy Smith‘s NBA-record streak at the time of 906 consecutive games played was finally snapped and was ultimately passed by AC Green in 1997

1954: After breaking his ankle sliding into a base during spring training, the Milwaukee Braves were forced to replace 3x All-Star OF Bobby Thomson with a rookie named Henry “Hank” Aaron in Spring Training who had a ROY-caliber season and became the Braves GOAT
