May 15th, 2021 was highlighted by the 2020 NBA Hall of Fame ceremony taking place almost a year after originally scheduled due to getting postponed last year. All-time legends like Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, and Kevin Garnett were all inducted with a memorable speech coming from Kobe’s widow Vanessa Bryant with Michael Jordan on stage alongside her, representing Kobe’s idol.
LeBron and AD were both healthy for the first time in a while and showed it in a win over Indiana while Brooklyn’s big 3 were all on the floor for the first time in over three months as they took care of business. Jackie Bradley Jr. had a crazy robbed HR, Tacko Fall got dunked on by Jake Layman, and the Pirates walked off the Giants on back-to-back nights. Albert Pujols joined the Dodgers, giving them an absurd amount of MVPs while Trevor Bauer continued his reigning Cy Young season with another outstanding outing.
See what happened in sports on May 15th last year, headlined by the 2020 MLB Draft moving to a virtual format, more NBA teams re-opening practice facilities, and multiple HOF legend’s birthdays. This daily sports article includes real headlines only (no clickbait rumors), all of the best highlights, interesting facts from around the NFL, NBA, & MLB, the main games to watch, top performances of the day, notable birthdays, and a quick recap of significant events on this day in sports history.
