March 2, 2022 marks the 40th birthday of Ben Roethlisberger, so it’s a great time to look at the Pittsburgh Steelers’ top-5 greatest players of all time with him highlighting the list.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have been around for almost 90 years and have been one of the most traditional and historic franchises in NFL history. With six Wins in eight appearances, they are tied for most Super Bowl victories of any team in the NFL. The black and gold uniforms are embedded into the minds of football fans as a recognizable winning franchise. As the seventh-oldest team in the league, there are so many players that fans think of when they hear the words “Steelers” or “Steel Curtain”.
Pittsburgh has brought eight Conference Championships and 24 (nine AFC North) division titles to the Steel City. With the most Wins in AFC history, there is no doubt the Steelers have brought some of the most impactful players to the game. This has created a great debate among fans trying to decide who is the greatest Pittsburgh Steeler ever. Honorable mention includes: DB Rod Woodson, LB Jack Ham, WR Antonio Brown, RB Jerome Bettis, and DB Mel Blount. EDGE TJ Watt and maybe even RB Najee Harris could one day crack this list.
