After Terry McLaurin signed a new contract extension with the Washington Commanders, there’s no better time to look at all of the historic records that the young phenom Wide Receiver already owns.

When the Washington Commanders selected Terry McLaurin in the 3rd round of the 2019 NFL Draft, nobody expected him to keep up with the rest of that year’s elite WR group. However, he went on to become arguably the best pass catcher from that class, lighting up defenses with his top end speed and ridiculous highlight catches. He had quite possibly the best first three seasons in franchise history, which means a lot when considering Washington’s rich WR legacy.

Born and raised in Indianapolis, McLaurin took his talents to Ohio State, where he played all four years. He continued to improve throughout college and into the pros, becoming the star talent in the WR room that the Commanders sorely needed. “Scary Terry” put up great numbers to start his career despite middling Quarterback play, showing similar potential to the other elite WRs from his draft class, like D.K. Metcalf and A.J. Brown.

After the 2021 season, Washington rewarded their promising wideout in the form of a $71 million contract extension over three years. His incredible skills have allowed him to become one of the top wide receivers in the entire league when the Washington locker room needed an influx of talent and leadership. His many highlight reel catches are often featured all over the internet and can be described as nothing short of jaw dropping with many more in store for the nation’s capital.
