Many plays and highlights are worth seeing from Saturday’s games as Mike Trout and Ronald Acuna broke franchise records early in their careers while game-winning RBIs were also a big part of the action. Throw in some home run robberies, 5-star catches, and a 3-HR performance, and September 5th had all the makings of a great day in the land of baseball.

Enjoy the best highlights from Saturday’s MLB action all in one place:

The greatest player in Angels franchise history is already Mike Trout indisputably and now he holds the team’s most prestigious record with his 300th career bomb, passing Tim Salmon as the team’s best home run hitter ever.

Mike Trout was the star of the show in LA, but Anthony Rendon and Jo Adell played a great supporting cast with walk-offs, go-ahead homers, and robbed dingers all in a day’s work.

Jo Adell didn’t have the only robbed home run catch on September 5th as Sam Hillard joined the fun with this leaping grab that brought one back against the reigning NL MVP on the MLB’s best team.

Entering the season as the No.1 prospect in all of baseball, Luis Robert has made an amazing first impression in 2020 as the AL Rookie of the Year favorite has showcased his elite two-way ability and added a five-star catch to the young sensation’s highlight reel.

While many people are able to take the weekends off, ball players are working like usual. In addition to the Angels (highlighted above), a few other teams on Saturday ended their night in celebration thanks to Buxton’s spectacular speed, Bogaerts’ clutch HR, and Hader’s shaky appearance.

The Indians walk-off came after ending Josh Hader’s record hitless streak to start the season thanks to Oscar Mercado’s double.

Make it 18 leadoff home runs for the Braves future MVP Ronald Acuna, which set an Atlanta franchise record in just his third season. The 5-tool outfielder has all the makings of an all-time great that could have this be one of the many records showcased in Cooperstown one day

Hitting a home run is the best outcome a hitter can have when he steps up to the plate. Knocking out two dingers in one game is a phenomenal performance, but what’s better than two home runs? Three. Three home runs is the answer.

It’s not too often that only a third baseman and a first baseman participate in a double play, and when that happens, it’s almost always the third baseman tagging the bag before firing it over to first for the second out. However, on this play it featured a much more rare 5-3-5 double play. Don’t see that everyday.

Full game highlights of today’s close games will be posted here once they conclude.
