It Might Be Worth Backing Tom Brady and Tampa Bay for Repeat Success

For those who are set to once again bet against Tom Brady’s mercurial excellence in the coming season, there is some bad news for you. It appears that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers veteran isn’t ready to take his foot off the pedal anytime soon. Having won seven NFL rings, the latest of which coming after leading Tampa Bay to Super Bowl glory over Kansas City Chiefs in February, you could forgive Brady for taking it just a little easier in 2021 but apparently, he’s raring to go.
The chances of Tampa Bay completing back-to-back Super Bowl triumphs rests almost exclusively on Brady’s shoulders, and the NFL betting lines today have Bruce Arians’ squad at a tempting (+700), second favorites to the Chiefs. When asked about whether he’s considering retirement (and remember Brady just turned 44), he responded assertively: “I’ll know when the time’s right,” Brady continued. “If I can’t … if I’m not a championship-level quarterback, then I’m not gonna play. If I’m a liability to the team, I mean, no way. But if I think I can win a championship, then I’ll play.”
Brady has clearly become something of a wise operator in the NFL world, he has after all completed 21 seasons at the highest level, and appears to be very aware of what he still has to offer. “It’s a very simple game that’s so hard to execute,” Brady said. “It’s a totally imperfect game that you’re trying to do as perfectly as possible. Every day I come out trying to do it. I’m hoping this is my best year.”
The ability Brady has to galvanize any organization he joins, and just look how New England fell apart in their first season with him, shows that he is a true legend. The fact that he drove Tampa Bay to their first Super Bowl success since 2002 in his first season away from New England shows just how Brady can do it wherever he lines up. Many have been of the belief that Brady would call time on his career at 45 but that may not be the case. The 14x Pro Bowler is still super fit and may well be around for some time to come.
So could Tampa pick up a second successive Super Bowl? Well, why not? Clearly, the likes of Kansas City, Buffalo, Baltimore, and Green Bay are going to push the Raymond James Stadium protectors as much as they can but if there’s one thing to know about TB12, it is to not underestimate Brady’s ability to prove any remaining doubters wrong.
Brady already has the NFL record for most Super Bowl wins, two ahead of Charles Haley, and is a good solid bet to clinch an eighth this time around. Tampa Bay starts the season in the NFL Kick-Off Game against the Dallas Cowboys on September 9th and don’t bank on anything other than a Tom Brady masterclass against ‘America’s Team’ en route to another season of resounding success in Florida.
