James Harden put up back-to-back 50-point games (more on him below), but it wasn’t enough as the Spurs mounted a 22-point comeback to leave the AT&T Center with a win in Double OT.
Jimmy Butler had already recorded his first triple-double since joining the Miami Heat in regulation, but that didn’t stop him from going off in overtime with eight consecutive points to start the extra period.
So… @JimmyButler‘s 5th career triple-double looked like this.
The Lakers superstar duo helped LA avoid consecutive losses, and they have another game in Utah on Wednesday as part of a ruthless back-to-back in the Rockies.
Carolina’s ownership finally said enough is enough after an embarrassing loss to the now 3-9 Washington Redskins and let go of 9-year HC Ron Rivera on Tuesday. Expect significant shakeup to take place in Charlotte this offseason.
Bradley Beal is quietly developing into one of the best scorers in the entire NBA. However, Washington’s lackluster defense will hold him back from getting the national acclaim he deserves this season.
Luka Doncic is the 2nd player under the age of 21 to score at least 600 points in his first 20 games of a season.
He joins LeBron James in 2005-06 as the only player to accomplish this feat. Both Luka and LeBron scored exactly 614 points. pic.twitter.com/I3fe2e6e7j
Highlights of the OT thriller were worthy of the #1 spot in the Best in Sports, but the interesting facts that came from Houston’s Big 3 warranted its own section in The Best from Tuesday.

James Harden posted his third 50-point game of the season, but did so on 11-38 FG (29%) – the worst FG% in a 50-point game since at least 1982-83 (the earliest season for which we have complete game-level FG% data).https://t.co/1WFu3rZh5Qpic.twitter.com/GOUXnDxvtW
These highlights could stand alone on most days, but a packed day in sports led these two national icons to join together with their flashes of excitement on Tuesday.
The only legit two-way player the MLB has seen since Babe Ruth has officially been cleared to take a mound and will build back up his strength before bringing his 100 MPH arm back in 2020.
ICYMI: Shohei Ohtani has been cleared to throw off a mound.
#PlayerOfTheDay Jimmy Butler recorded his first triple-double since joining the Miami Heat (5th of career) as he took over in OT scoring 8 consecutive points for MIA to kick off the extra period that led to the Toronto Raptors’ first loss at home this season (9-1) https://t.co/svJ7U3f5BB
