The Baltimore Orioles have significantly struggled this season but a lone bright spot has been the surprising play of Center Fielder Cedric Mullins who has blossomed into an All-Star in 2021. Mullins isn’t only one of the most productive offensive outfielders in baseball but he has also put together some incredible plays on the defensive side of the ball as well (like this full extension catch a few months ago).
However, none have been better than the play Mullins made on Wednesday evening against the New York Yankees when he robbed Gary Sanchez of a clear bomb thanks to some impressive elevation. Gone are the days of Adam Jones manning CF in Camden Yards but the guy who could be his long-term replacement is looking pretty good, especially if he keeps making spectacular plays like this which is surely a catch of the year candidate.
