Dalvin Cook was one of the great running backs taken in the 2017 draft class along with Christian McCaffreyAlvin KamaraKareem HuntJoe MixonAaron Jones, and Leonard Fournette. Cook was selected in the second round, (41st overall) by the Vikings out of Florida State. Cook struggled to set himself apart in Minnesota’s backfield his first two seasons, only starting in 14 games between the two years.

He had his breakout season in 2019 where he scored 13 TD’s and racked up 1,654 yards from scrimmage, which got him selected to the Pro Bowl, and led Minnesota to the Divisional round of the playoffs. Cook managed to improve again in 2020 with 17 TD’s and 1,918 yards from scrimmage on his way to another Pro Bowl appearance as he’s already cementing himself as one of the best backs in Vikings history.

DALVIN COOK IS ALREADY ONE OF THE BEST RUNNING BACKS IN VIKINGS HISTORY

Following in the footstep of Adrian Peterson is a difficult thing to do but Dalvin Cook is doing just that, and could potentially pass him in MIN record books. With two Pro Bowls in as many seasons, Cook is on the path to being the best RB in the NFL, as well as the best in Vikings history. In 2020, he was second in RUSH TD’s (16) and third in total TD’s (17).

He has also spent his last two seasons among the top-10 of YScm and RUSH YDS. There are plenty of elite Running Backs in today’s NFL and Cook is proving himself as one of the best ones. The 26-year-old Cook is just getting started on a potential HOF career, yet he’s already 1 of the greatest RB’s in Minnesota Vikings history.
