In a Monday night of eight games, many teams atop the Western Conference failed to succeed. Denver failed to beat Golden State, who had a historic night from Steph Curry, scoring 53 and breaking the Warriors franchise record in points. Additionally, Washington snapped Utah’s 24-game home win streak, in part thanks to Westbrook‘s ninth triple-double in 10 games. The LA Lakers continue to show they miss their stars, falling to New York. However, Phoenix was able to move up in the West, beating Houston and tying the NBA record for threes in a half.

De’Aaron Fox had 43 points for Sacramento, but it wasn’t enough to lift them over New Orleans. A dominant fourth quarter propelled Memphis to a victory over Chicago, outscoring them by 15 in the period. In a game where Joel Embiid and Luka Doncic both scored 30+ points, it was Embiid who got the last laugh as Philly went on to beat Dallas while Orlando continues to slump, losing by 23 at home to San Antonio.

NBA TOP PERFORMERS

STEPH CURRY IS CEMENTED AS THE GREATEST PLAYER IN WARRIORS HISTORY

It was a night to remember for Steph Curry in the Chase Center. The star guard dropped 53 points on 10-18 shooting from deep in their home defeat of Denver. Not only did he have an impressive stat-line, but he passed Wilt Chamberlain (17,783) for the most points ever in Warriors franchise history, needing 19 points entering the night to do so and accomplishing the feat in the first quarter.

Chef Curry is already solidified as the greatest shooter to ever live, but he has now earned himself a new title: Greatest Warriors player ever. Chamberlain is a legendary player and one of the best all-time, but Curry has done more for this franchise than any player ever. He brought home three championships, and the first for the team since 1975, while Chamberlain won none for the franchise and some could argue he’s more known for his stops in Los Angeles or Philadelphia.

The baby-faced assassin has spent his entire career in Golden State and has changed the entire game throughout his time there. He made the three-point shot more popular and revived a fanbase in the San Francisco bay area. He’s been undeniably impactful to this organization, and deserves a lot of credit for the respect they have today as a franchise. Curry has surely established himself as the best to ever put on a Warriors jersey and now has the points to prove it.
