Five of the seven games during Monday’s slate were decided by ten points or less. Gary Trent Jr. made a buzzer-beater in the Raptors’ fourth quarter comeback over Washington to win the game. In a match decided by free throws, Phoenix clutched up to scrape by the struggling Houston squad. Kyrie Irving dropped 40 points in the battle of New York and carried Brooklyn to a win over New York without key players.

Dallas was able to fend off a good fourth quarter from Utah and continue their hot streak. Minnesota was tied with Sacramento going into the fourth, but were able to put together a solid performance and finish the game strong, winning by ten as D-Lo finally made his return to the court (25 PTS). The two largest blowouts of the night came from Detroit over Oklahoma City, and Cleveland over San Antonio with the help of a career-high 37 points from Darius Garland.

NBA TOP PERFORMERS

SEAN MARKS HAS COMPLETELY TRANSFORMED BROOKLYN IN HALF A DECADE

Sean Marks, the general manager of the Brooklyn Nets, has turned Brooklyn into the odds-on favorites to win the NBA Finals this season from the bottom of the league just a few years ago. Four seasons ago, Brooklyn’s team was highlighted by Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Brook Lopez. Marks has taken this roster and transformed it into a title-favorite in a span of only four seasons.

Now, the squad consists of top players like Kevin Durant, James Harden, Kyrie Irving, along with a supporting cast of Blake Griffin and LaMarcus Aldridge. This is a team full of big names, and Marks was able to put together a roster of all of them. Not only did he add all these talented pieces, but the squad plays well together too. Brooklyn currently boasts a 35-16 record, which is top of the Eastern Conference, and they’ve done so while dealing with plenty of adversity and absences along with a first-year Head Coach.

Marks’ masterpiece is also the new team of New York now. In Monday’s clash with the Knicks, Brooklyn secured the victory without star players Kevin Durant and James Harden, as Kyrie dropped 40 to pull out the win and complete the inner-city sweep. Whether Brooklyn wins it all this year or not, the impact and influence of Sean Marks can’t be understated as he’s constructed possibly the most talented roster of all-time and should be the unanimous Executive of the Year.
