A scary injury to Joel Embiid paused the basketball world as he landed awkwardly against the Wizards, but an MRI confirmed no structural damage and he’s expected to only miss 2-3 weeks. Washington got dominated by Philly in that game whether Embiid was on DC’s floor or not, though.

A much closer game took place in a state just west of VA as the Memphis Grizzlies and Denver Nuggets battled until the final possession where Ja Morant’s layup was contested by Jokic who had just put in the final five points as the hero of the night. Lakers-Pacers also came down to the wire where Kyle Kuzma’s heroics in the 4th Qtr (15 PTS) led LA past Indy.

Jimmy Butler and Goran Dragic’s big 4th Qtr (20 PTS) helped Miami beat Butler’s former team in Chicago. Utah barely missed out on covering a whopping 17-pt spread against the Rockets as Kevin Porter Jr. looked fantastic in his Houston debut. San Antonio bounced back from their Wednesday night loss with a win over Orlando and the Pelicans punished the Cavaliers as Kevin Love made his long-anticipated return (on a 10-minute restriction).
