There was a lot of NBA action to satisfy fans on Friday night. Minnesota closed their game against Houston on a 22-0 run to keep Houston ice cold. Unlike Minnesota, Phoenix ended their game cold from the field, not scoring a single field goal in the final 3:50 of the game, but still pulled out a close win against Toronto. Similar to Phoenix, Charlotte almost blew a 23-point halftime lead to Miami, but hung on to win the contest.
Brooklyn also had to hold off a comeback from Detroit, but escaped with a road win thanks to 44 points from James Harden. Boston got their revenge on Milwaukee, beating them a couple nights after a missed Daniel Theis buzzer-beater, who is now a Chicago Bull as of the trade deadline. Denver had a second-half resurgence over New Orleans, outlasting them on the road with 37 points from Nikola Jokic.
Utah was another team who had to hold off a large halftime lead, but they held on at home against Memphis, marking their 18th straight home win. John Collins’ career-high of 38 lifted Atlanta over Golden State on the road as the Warriors are clearly missing the presence of star guard Stephen Curry. The Lakers finally snapped out of their Lebron-less slump, overcoming Cleveland, as they held them to only 10 points in the 3rd quarter.
