GIANNIS ANTETOKOUNMPO IS THE NBA’S BEST PLAYER AND ONLY GETTING BETTER
COLORS KEY | FULL BUCKS OUTLOOK
Giannis Antetokounmpo wrote on Twitter early in his career that he would never leave the Milwaukee Bucks until they built themselves into a championship organization. They did just that, as the franchise won its first championship in half a century this past July, led by the historic play of their franchise icon. The Bucks had experienced a pair of painful playoff exits, namely in 2019 to the Raptors during the ECF, and in 2020 to the Heat with a lopsided second-round series loss in the bubble.
The supporting cast of Khris Middleton, Jrue Holiday, and PJ Tucker played well, but Antetokounmpo was a superstar in the postseason despite suffering a hyperextended knee. He shot 57% from the field, but saved his best performance for the clincher against the Suns, where he scored 50 points and hit 17-19 free throws. His jump shot and free throw shooting remained inconsistent, but if he begins to knock those shots down with confidence, the NBA’s best player will be even better.
