Who you play with can have a big impact on the quality of your performance. If you’re playing with people who are beginners and who have no interest in getting better (as in, it’s not that serious for them), then you’ll be unlikely to improve.
It can be fun to be a big fish in a small pond for a little while, but at some point or another, you’ll simply plateau. Instead, look at playing with players who are better than you are. It might be a little bit uncomfortable at the beginning since you may be one of the weaker players, but if you know that you can improve, then eventually, you’ll step up to their level.

Once you’ve finished, spend 10 – 15 minutes winding your body down. Again, it’s not the most exciting thing you can do, but there are plenty of benefits — including avoiding any muscle stiffness the following morning.
You might be using your sport as your primary way to stay in shape. However, it shouldn’t be your only method for staying in shape. It’s important to have an overall active lifestyle. One hour of intense activity will do some good, but the effects will be limited if you’re spending the rest of the week sitting on the couch.
You’ll find that you have a competitive advantage if you have an overall active lifestyle. The people who are faster and stronger usually do better in competition time than others. And if you’re going to the gym and a daily run, then faster and stronger is what you’ll be!
