Originally being drafted by the Bulls with the second overall pick, LaMarcus Aldridge’s rights were traded to the Blazers where he had a solid rookie campaign and was named to the 2007 All-Rookie Team. Playing 22 MPG, Aldridge slid in as a backup big man role, but with the departure of Zach Randolph the following season, Aldridge was inserted into the starting lineup where he would remain for the rest of his career.

From there on, Aldridge averaged at least 17 PPG & 7 RPG on his way to four All-Star games, three All-NBA team selections, the most rebounds, and third most points in Blazers franchise history. In July of 2015, Aldridge signed with the Spurs where he continued to play at an All-Star level, and made two more All-NBA teams. After reaching a buyout with the Spurs, he signed with the Nets where he only played five games before retiring due to an irregular heartbeat.

LaMARCUS ALDRIDGE WAS THE GREATEST PF IN PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZERS HISTORY

LaMarcus Aldridge spent nine of his 15 NBA seasons in Portland where he broke numerous franchise records for not only among PF’s but among the entire organization. Among all Blazers PF’s, Aldridge has more All-Star selections, more All-NBA selections and the most games played. He currently sits first in total rebounds and defensive rebounds for the franchise among any position, and leads all Portland PF’s in FGM, FTM, and OREB.

Aldridge was an offensive machine in his prime, averaging 21+ PPG and 8+ RPG for the last five years he was with the Blazers. As for the other notable PF’s in Trail Blazers history, none stack up to the juggernaut that LaMarcus Aldridge was in his nine-year stint with the franchise and that’s why LA is the starting PF in Portland’s all-time lineup.
