Much has been made about the resurgence of the Dallas Cowboys defense this season in their rise back toward the top of the NFC, and star rookie LB Micah Parsons has been a main catalyst for that. Parsons set the rookie franchise record for sacks in a season on Thanksgiving Day against the Las Vegas Raiders. New DC Dan Quinn inherited Parsons and a talented group of defensive players, but Parsons has been the star, showing off his unprecedented versatility in different positions and coverages.
A silver (and blue) lining for the Cowboys in their Thanksgiving loss:
With his overtime sack of Derek Carr, Micah Parsons reached 9.0 sacks on the year, breaking DeMarcus Ware's franchise rookie record
MICAH PARSONS IS HAVING 1 OF THE BEST DEFENSIVE ROOKIE SEASONS EVER
Cowboys star rookie LB Micah Parsons has been feasting on opposing offensive lines so far this season, which has led to the new DAL rookie record for SK in a season. It’s not far-fetched to say that Parsons is having one of the best seasons by a rookie defensive player. The Penn State product has shown the ability to drop back into coverage as a LB, as well as line up on the DL and get after the QB. His versatility has been a key cog in this Dallas defense and boost any hopes for a deep playoff run.
