FULL ARTICLE: 2020 NFL Draft: The High-End and Low-End Potential for the Later-Round Quarterbacks by Seth Galina, Pro Football Focus

MOST VALUABLE INTEL: Out of every NFL draft comes at least one late-round Quarterback that surpasses expectations. Last year, it was Gardner Minshew who shined out of the later rounds. Even though these late-round QB’s most likely won’t start Week 1 in September, these guys could one day emerge as a starting-caliber option. Some see UGA signal-caller Jake Fromm as a potential late steal in this draft thanks to his mental makeup, however he too often performed on the low-end for comfort. The other QBs with high-end and low-end potential each have a special skill-set that could lead them to a starting role down the road in their career.

MOST VALUABLE INTEL: Both NFL analysts and fans can’t stop debating about where QBs like Herbert, Tagovailoa, and Love will land in the draft. How does this QB class compare to the previous ones over the last 20 years? The 2017 Draft that presented the NFL world with Mitch Trubisky, Deshaun Watson, and reigning Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes was one of the best draft classes thanks to Mahomes & Watson, but not quite #1. The nineteen other QB classes show how stacked and how disappointing some classes have been in the 21st century.

MOST VALUABLE INTEL: There is no argument to be made about what NFL fans expect to see from QB Joe Burrow and DE Chase Young: immediate elite production. However, there are a handful of polarizing prospects that simply aren’t being talked about enough the day of the draft. Oklahoma dual-threat QB Jalen Hurts is looking like he could become the 2020 version of Dak Prescott, as a potential starter in Week 1 despite being selected in the middle rounds. The remaining, under-appreciated prospects may still be on the board for Day 2 and 3 of the draft, but could eventually earn starting nods sooner than later.

MOST VALUABLE INTEL: While it’s almost certain that the Bengals will take Burrow at the top of the draft, the locations of QB number two, three, and so on is a murky situation. Multiple organizations, such as the Dolphins and Chargers, have the means and the motivation to move up and pick their franchise-quarterback. Utah State’s Jordan Love is a major wildcard as he could fall anywhere between the top-10 picks and somewhere in Round 2. His rare combination of physical potential and film inconsistency leave evaluators rather confused. Thirteen other QBs have a solid chance of hearing their name called later this weekend.

FULL ARTICLE: PSO Scouting Report: QB Joe Burrow (LSU) by Ricky Eisenbart, Pro Sports Outlook

MOST VALUABLE INTEL: In 2019, LSU gunslinger Joe Burrow had one of the best QB seasons in the history of college football: 5,571 yards, 60 TDs, and only 6 INTs. The combination of his sturdy structure (6’3″, 221 lbs), quick release, and nimble footwork with his beautiful deep ball reassures Cincinnati fans that he’s worthy of the first overall selection. While there’s only one year of high-level Joe Burrow footage, his potential to redirect the Bengals back to playoff contention is as clear as ever. Further analysis of the Quarterback dives into the outlook on what could be a spectacular career when it’s all said and done.

FULL ARTICLE: 2020 NFL Draft Superlatives: Edge Defenders by Michael Renner, Pro Football Focus

MOST VALUABLE INTEL: On one side of the 2020 NFL Draft coin represents its depth at the WR and OT positions with the other side displaying the weak Edge Defender class. It seems that there is a lack of faith at the Edge position following Chase Young, as NFL teams and analysts aren’t sold on the many other alternatives. However, one superlative given was the ‘Best Run Defender’ awarded to MSU Kenny Willekes, as his uniquely special play style led to his second-most run stops (51) among Power-five Edge Defenders since the start of the 2018 season. The five other awards were given to other EDGE prospects who dominated in some capacity over their respective collegiate careers.

FULL ARTICLE: 2020 NFL Draft: Dream Fits for Each NFL Team by Maurice Moton, Bleacher Report

MOST VALUABLE INTEL: NFL franchises have been preparing for this draft for months, but in addition to excessive planning, teams will need luck to find their preferred picks in each round. In the perfect world where each organization lands their ideal match, the Dolphins grab Justin Herbert while the Chargers snag Tua Tagovailoa early in the first round. Both teams find their franchise-QB to lead their respective teams back into Super Bowl contention without having to give up any additional assets to trade up. The other 30 dream fits all fill a vital hole for each team looking to add a young star to their roster for 2020 and beyond.

FULL ARTICLE: Perfect Prospect-Team Pairings for the 2020 NFL Draft by Michael Renner, Pro Football Focus

MOST VALUABLE INTEL: Since the 2019 season concluded, fans have read countless articles and mock drafts detailing their team’s strongest needs and crucial holes that need to be filled. Opposing the draft strategy of selecting the best talent available is this scenario where each NFL squad acquires the perfect prospect for their 2020 regular-season run. With the Saints needing an immediate contributor during Drew Brees last go round, New Orleans selects LB Patrick Queen out of LSU with the 24th pick to stay in Louisiana and help anchor a Super-Bowl caliber defense. The remaining ideal team-player pairings help fix short-term and long-term issues for teams looking to compete over the next few seasons.

FULL ARTICLE: Best Small-College Studs Ever for All 32 NFL Teams: Payton, Rice, McNair and More by NFL Nation, ESPN

MOST VALUABLE INTEL: Just because the overwhelming majority of NFL draft picks come from a team in a Power-5 conference does NOT mean a player HAS to come from one to have a HOF career. Small-school studs Walter Payton and Jerry Rice are prime examples of little fish that thrived in the big pond. All-Pro Patriots CB Malcolm Butler did not only play for the small football program at West Alabama, but then went completely undrafted before he became one of the premiere corners in the NFL and earned a lucrative $61.3M contract with Tennessee. Every other organization has drafted or signed an unconventional small-school prospect that overcame the odds of playing for a lackluster CFB program.
