FULL ARTICLE: 2020 NFL Draft: Pick-by-Pick Analysis for All 255 Picks by Bucky Brooks & Mark Dulgerian, NFL.com

MOST VALUABLE INTEL: After a historic 2020 NFL Draft, it’s been hard to keep up with everything going on. With 255 draft picks, it’s impossible to know each and every player, but this article does a fantastic job of providing quick information about every single player drafted in 2020. CeeDee Lamb’s selection by Dallas gets a lot of attention as Mike McCarthy could see some DaVante Adams in him, but their final selection of Ben DiNucci out of James Madison University gives the Cowboys an interesting choice for Dak’s backup as Clayton Thorson is the only other QB under contract after this season. 7th Rd Pick DiNucci’s college career ended with him throwing a disastrous INT in the end zone on the final play of the FCS Championship a few months ago.

MOST VALUABLE INTEL: Following the first overall selection of Joe Burrow to the Cincinnati Bengals, the remainder of the draft was completely up in the air. Many expected the Dolphins and Chargers to pursue a QB in the first round, but who could have predicted the Eagles to pick QB Jalen Hurts after signing franchise cornerstone Carson Wentz to a 4-year contract last spring. Besides the addition of Hurts, Philadelphia filled major roster holes with their selections of WR Jalen Reagor (21st), LB Davion Taylor (103rd), CB K’Von Wallace (127th), and many more; giving the Eagles a strong A- grade. PFF dives into how every other team fared in the 2020 NFL Draft.

MOST VALUABLE INTEL: Looking back, hindsight is always 20-20. However, a handful of teams made special selections that shined brighter than all the rest. Of the best picks in the draft, only four came in the first round; leaving room for the valuable players that were taken during Days 2 and 3. The first of the picks came in at 5th overall, where Miami’s plan to “Tank for Tua” came full circle. The Dolphins future officially has a positive outlook as their franchise QB-to-be can sit and learn behind the smart and capable veteran that is Ryan Fitzpatrick. The other seven selections are all prime examples of teams finding key role players at different points in the draft.

MOST VALUABLE INTEL: In every draft, there are players selected in the later rounds that end up having phenomenal careers. Some hit the ground running while others take a few weeks to get acclimated, but many prospects picked in Rounds 4-7 will go on to play a major role for their team’s future seasons. The Steelers found RB Anthony McFarland with the 124th pick, who had 298 yards and 2 TDs against Ohio State in 2018. With Pittsburgh’s robust offensive line, McFarland has the potential to be the best running back in the class if he obtains enough starting reps, or leapfrogs fellow-teammate James Conner on the RB depth chart (Conner’s also a Free Agent after 2020). Five other late-round steals have the ability to turn into Pro Bowl-caliber talent in the near future.

MOST VALUABLE INTEL: As the 2020 Draft came to an end, 255 prospects entered the NFL, leaving many rookies looking to sign as free agents. Many UnDrafted Free Agents (UDFA) are able to develop into key contributors down the road. In this class, the most well-rounded QB on the UDFA market is Washington State’s Anthony Gordon. His film shows NFL quarterback potential for teams in search of a dynamic 2nd or 3rd string signal-caller. The remaining top prospects have their fair share of risks attached, but could each prove to be significant acquisitions if given an ideal opportunity.

MOST VALUABLE INTEL: As millions of football fans watched the first round of the draft, some were satisfied with their team’s selection(s) while others were struck with agitation and utter disbelief. Even so, there are positives and negatives connected to each and every draft pick. The most polarizing selection of the first round was Green Bay taking QB Jordan Love at 26th overall. One pro for that decision is now there is a clear future for the Packers following the Aaron Rodgers era. One con that may be overwhelming the one pro is that the selection does absolutely nothing to help GB compete anytime soon with a healthy Rodgers. The other 31 pros and cons explain both sides of the coin for every first round draft pick.

MOST VALUABLE INTEL: Once again, the draft process churned out another class of steals, reaches, and surprises. One of the top steals was the Cowboys snagging WR CeeDee Lamb at 17th overall; as the third receiver off the board has the potential to be Prescott’s top target in Dallas. One of the top reaches was the Packers taking RB AJ Dillon at 62nd overall to sit behind the dynamic duo of Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams. A huge surprise was QB Jacob Eason falling to the Colts at 122nd overall, who could become the franchise QB after learning behind Rivers for a year in Indianapolis. The surplus of steals, reaches, and surprises in this years draft will give even the most avid fan a better understanding of the most dramatic developments during this NFL Draft season.

FULL ARTICLE: 2020 NFL Draft: Picking Jerry Jeudy Was the Best Thing the Broncos Could Have Done for Drew Lock’s Development by Sam Monson, Pro Football Focus

MOST VALUABLE INTEL: With the Broncos future in question as they sit behind the best overall team in the NFL, Denver’s front office took immediate, remedying action by giving sophomore QB Drew Lock another top target next to Courtland Sutton. The addition of Alabama wideout Jerry Jeudy ensures that Denver’s top priority is developing their franchise quarterback. With a supporting cast of Jeudy, Sutton, Noah Fant, Melvin Ingram, and Phillip Lindsay, the future for the Broncos is significantly brighter. Jeudy will bring much more to Denver than just his elite route-running; he is compared to Calvin Ridley, but brings a better overall skillset.

MOST VALUABLE INTEL: The former 5-star HS recruit was expected to come off the board in rounds 2 and 3 in many mock drafts, but somehow slipped to the Colts on Day 3. Washington QB Jacob Eason has a remarkable opportunity to take over the reigns of a contending organization within his first two years in the NFL. After signing potential HOF Philip Rivers to a 1-year deal, the Colts can sit Eason behind his ideal mentor with the hopes of him becoming the long-term leader they expected from Andrew Luck. From Eason’s film to his responses during interviews, the rocket-armed pocket passer displays an impressive physical and mental approach to fuel his unique play-style.
