It looks like walk-off Wednesday got moved back a day to walk-off Thursday as three separate MLB games were won in the final at-bat of the game. An impressive MLB debut, bounce back from injury, and diving catch in the grass are also featured in the MLB’s must-see highlights from Thursday.

One of the more notable MLB players to opt-out before the season started was veteran OF Nick Markakis. However, the 36-year-old became the only player to opt back in before the August 1st deadline. He made his season debut on Wednesday as a pinch-hitter, but made his first start of the year on Thursday and finished the day as the hero thanks to this game-winning HR.

A day after completing an inside-the-park home run, Kole Calhoun is featured in the must-see MLB highlights once again. This time, it’s because Kole came through in the clutch to help Arizona cap off an offensive-heavy 9th inning with a 2-RBI base knock, down the right field line.

The Pittsburgh Pirates were chronologically the first team to win from a walk-off on Thursday. However, the other two walk-offs were much better hits (one being a home run) and warranted a premier spot, but Kevin Newman’s game-winner might be the most impressive, considering this hit shifted a late-deficit into the go-ahead run with one swing of the bat.

Christian Yelich was notoriously batting an abysmal .088 entering Thursday’s action. The 2018 NL MVP finally caught a break when this blooper not only dropped in for a hit, but Eloy Jimenez dropped into the net and allowed the 30-SB threat to run around the bases before the ball beat him to the plate. This good fortune could be exactly what Yelich needs to break out of his slump.

Cavan Biggio grew up playing in the infield, specifically second base just like his Hall of Fame father. With the Blue Jays current loaded infield in place, Biggio is learning to play in the outfield to continue getting more regular at-bats. His learning curve seems to be going well if this diving catch that saved a run is any indication.

The Colorado Rockies entered the bottom half of the 7th inning trailing 3-1. They responded by putting up five runs against Rico Garcia who was charged with the loss, especially after Daniel Murphy’s perfectly timed pinch-hit 2-run shot.

While Shohei Ohtani is unlikely to pitch again in the 2020 MLB season, the two-way phenom can still hit as the DH throughout the rest of the year. The Japanese icon reminded people that he’s still a legitimate threat at the plate, whether he can pitch or not.

Once upon a time, Dylan Bundy was the ace of the Baltimore Orioles pitching staff, which wasn’t necessarily saying much. However, Bundy then struggled the last two years before being sent to the Angels this past offseason. The 27-year old righty has had a stellar start to 2020 after pitching a complete game against the Mariners while racking up double-digit Ks.

Not many baseball fans, or even Texas Rangers fans know the name Anderson Tejada, but he’s Fangraphs’ No.4 ranked prospect in the Rangers organization and made his big-league debut on Thursday. The promising middle infielder showed signs of what could be a threat in the lineup for years to come.

Jose Ramirez has been credited with defensive highlights and now deserves some acclaim for his ability to hit homers from both sides of the plate. J-Ram continues to be one of the most underrated players in all of baseball.

Full game highlights of today’s close games will be posted here once they conclude.
