The day before the MLB has the sports world’s attention to itself on Wednesday, baseball had to battle with a Game 7 playoff game and a tightly contested Game 1 in the NBA playoffs, but still managed to produce some must-see highlights. The Yankees & Brewers couldn’t stop putting up runs while multiple players around the league couldn’t stop on the base paths with some aggressive advances to cross the plate.

Enjoy the best highlights from Tuesday’s MLB action all in one place:

Amir Garrett caught mainstream headlines last year due to his involvement in a brawl against Pittsburgh last year. This season, he’s as good as ever and benefitted from Brian Goodwin saving a run off of his ERA with this remarkable home run robbery, helping Garrett collect his first career Save.

While Brian Goodwin conquered the outfield, Garrett Hampson and J.D. Davis made the best plays in the infield on Tuesday with a bare-handed grab at the hot corner as well as a diving flip to spark a double play.

Now it makes sense why J.D. Davis doesn’t like using his glove.

Cleveland has seemed to find new ways to lose this week. On Sunday, the Browns got blown out by Baltimore after missing kicks and calling questionable plays, and on Tuesday, the Indians loaded the bases against the Cubs, and walked away as losers after hitting the consecutive batters to allow the game-winning run.

If it wasn’t for Francisco Lindor though, the Indians defense wouldn’t have even gone out there in the bottom of the 9th.

There were many instances on Tuesday where a player decided to stretch the boundaries on the base paths and successfully reached the next base, strictly because of their elite speed.

Some speedsters weren’t so lucky though as Lindor tried to test Heyward’s cannon in RF and got gunned.

The New York Yankees and Milwaukee Brewers started the game by putting up runs, and didn’t stop at all throughout the games, as they each scored over 17 runs to cap off their offensive onslaughts on Tuesday.

In what has quickly become one of the best rivalries in baseball, the Padres and Dodgers played Game 2 of their monumental three-game series on Tuesday and things got real interesting in the final frame. Down two runs, the Padres managed to get the bases loaded against Kenley Jansen in the bottom of the 9th inning, however the 3x All-Star was able to get out of the jam and close the door on San Diego’s comeback attempt.

The Boston Red Sox haven’t had much to be excited about this year as they own the worst record in the American League. However, with a new direction focused on the future, it was promising to see one of Boston’s best pitching prospects Tanner Houck dominate in his MLB debut against Miami.

Leading the entire majors with a .335 batting average in 2019, Tim Anderson has followed that up with an even more exceptional .374 batting title effort in the shortened 60-game season. Nobody can call it a fluke as the soon-to-be 2x batting champion has been here and done that before.

Full game highlights of today’s close games will be posted here once they conclude.
