The best pitchers are those who step up in big-time games. Nathan Eovaldi has done that time and time again with the Boston Red Sox, most recently defeating the New York Yankees in the 2021 AL Wild Card Game. Eovaldi has had Tommy John Surgery twice, yet still remains a clutch playoff performer. The Red Sox ace continues to come through and is steadily becoming one of the greatest postseason pitchers in baseball.

NATHAN EOVALDI IS BECOMING 1 OF THE BEST POSTSEASON PITCHERS IN BASEBALL

Nathan Eovaldi is best known for one of the greatest World Series moments in history. On two days rest in the 2018 World Series, Eovaldi pitched six consecutive extra innings, before ultimately giving up a walk-off HR to Max Muncy. The AL Wild Card Game was the righty’s first playoff appearance since that loss and did not disappoint. If Eovaldi continues to pitch like he did against the Yankees, he could be known as one of the best postseason pitchers of all-time.

The Boston Red Sox needed a dependable outing from ace Nathan Eovaldi and they sure got one. Eovaldi went five and a third innings with eight strikeouts and one run on an Anthony Rizzo HR. With this latest dominant performance, the Red Sox rotation anchor can be relied on to give a solid postseason outing and is one of the best postseason Pitchers in baseball.
