While Fantasy Football and real NFL games have their differences, they share one common theme: If a player goes off in fantasy it usually means he went off in the real game as well. For Week 11, here are the players with the best chances to dominate their opponents. These players, due to their History, Situation, and Matchups could be extremely valuable to their teams this week with their monster performances.
In just his third game back from injury, Drew Brees has a great matchup against a weak Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense. Brees did not have a great showing last week throwing zero touchdowns and 287 passing yards. The Saints, however, are a dangerous team with Michael Thomas, Alvin Kamara, and Latavius Murray who account for 11 of their 19 touchdowns on the year. Tampa Bay has given up the third most touchdowns so far this season, which Brees and the Saints will look to capitalize on.
Ezekiel Elliott is ranked eighth in the league for rushing yards at 788. Zeke is the workhorse behind the Dallas Cowboys powerful offensive line. Their offensive line is ranked 4th in power rankings, and have a success rate of 74%. The Detroit Lions have allowed 9 touchdowns on the year, and have shown some weakness against running backs. Look for Elliott and the Cowboys to exploit this matchup, especially with the Lions who may be without their starting quarterback Matthew Stafford this week (and the rest of the season).
The connection between Tom Brady and Julian Edelman has been going strong for a decade. The chemistry between these two players has yet to slow down, as Edelman is leading the New England Patriots in receptions, targets, receiving yards, and touchdowns in 2019. With the addition of Mohammed Sanu from the Atlanta Falcons, this has took some coverage off of Edelman. With 7+ catches in each of the last 5 games, Edelman and Brady will look to pick apart a Philadelphia defense who are ranked 25th against Wide Receivers.
Despite missing out on four weeks due to injury, Hunter Henry has made himself a fixture in the Los Angeles Chargers offense. He has 4 touchdowns on the year which is the same amount as #1 WR Keenan Allen. The Chargers are playing the Kansas City Chiefs who have allowed touchdowns to opposing teams Tight Ends in each of the past two weeks. Although Henry has a high percentage of offensive snaps the past few weeks, there are a lot of other playmakers on LA’s offense. Melvin Gordon, Austin Ekeler, and Keenan Allen might take some plays away from Henry, but this matchup against KC’s weak LB corps looks to be in his favor.
6 players on KC have over 20+ receptions (most in NFL)
LAC has 8th ranked defense against WRs
An explosive player for the Kansas City Chiefs, Tyreek Hill has 140+ receiving yards in each of the last two weeks. Also of note, Hill has scored 5 touchdowns in the last 5 weeks as well. On Monday Night games in 2018, Hill put up 19 receptions, 269 yards, and two touchdowns. Despite missing four games on the year, Hill is tied for the team-high 5 touchdowns and second in receiving yards (543). It’s going to be a tougher matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers, as they have allowed only seven touchdowns to WR’s this year. Hill is matchup proof though, as any game Hill has a chance to dominate his not-as-fast DB competition. With the speed of Tyreek Hill combined with Patrick Mahomes’ ability to throw the deep ball, Hill has enormous upside in this matchup on Monday Night (and any game this season).
