While Fantasy Football and real NFL games have their differences, they share one common theme: If a player goes off in fantasy it usually means he went off in the real game as well. For Week 6, here are the players with the best chances to dominate their opponents. These players due to their History, Opportunity, and Matchups could be extremely valuable to their teams this week with their monster performances.

Facts to Know:

  • Has thrown 11 touchdowns with no interceptions this year
  • Top WRs Tyreek Hill (Quest.) & Sammy Watkins (Doubt.) have missed a combine 5 games this year
  • Houston’s defense against Quarterbacks is ranked 25th

Mahomes is the reigning MVP for the 2018 season, and he has shown this year he is not slowing down. While his ankle looked like it somewhat neutralized his special abilities against the Colts, here are his quotes regarding his ankle ahead of this game:

“I actually feel pretty good today,” the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback said, via ESPN. “I feel like after the [Colts] game, it was sore after the game. But it’s feeling pretty good today, so I’m glad to be able to go out there and practice on it and get it moving around and stuff like that. I feel like I’ll be fine playing and moving around and still doing what I need to do to win. It’s not perfect. I guess you would say that. But it’s good enough where I can run, cut, cut off of it and do all that type of stuff.”

He is ranked first in both PPR leagues and Standard for Fantasy. Through five weeks he has not thrown a single interception, and has thrown for over 300 yards each week as well. These are two high-powered offenses going at it on Sunday, so look for a high scoring game. With Houston’s defense being ranked 25th against quarterbacks this is a viable matchup for Mahomes to keep his hot streak going and get back on track for a back-to-back MVP campaign.

Honorable Mention: Russell Wilson (SEA)

Facts To Know:

  • Aaron Jones has at least one Touchdown per game since week two
  • Backup Jamal Williams is returning to the lineup after missing most of last 2 games
  • Detroit’s defense against running backs is ranked 29th

There is no question that Aaron Jones has been a key player for the Packers this year, and he’ll look to keep the ball rolling in Week 6. The Detroit Lions, ranked 29th in the league against the run, have let up over 20 points each week, and five touchdowns through four weeks to running backs. This is a home matchup for the Packers on Monday Night against their longtime rivals, Detroit Lions.

What could benefit fantasy players about Jones, especially in PPR leagues, is his ability to catch out of the backfield. In each of the previous two weeks he has had over 5 receptions, which will help collect even more points for his fantasy owners. Jamaal Williams, after being out last week, has been practicing and should be back for his regular backup role in the offense. When in the red zone, Green Bay likes to feed it to Jones either on the ground or dump offs. This allows him to do what he does best, which is making big plays with his legs.

Honorable Mention: Leonard Fournette (JAX)

Facts To Know:

  • Chris Godwin has scored two touchdowns in each of the past two games
  • Godwin has 3rd most Rec Yds among WR in 2019; Mike Evans has 16th most
  • #1 ranked wide receiver in both PPR and Standard leagues

Chris Godwin has been on a tear to start the year as the Tampa Bay leader in receptions, targets, receiving yards, and touchdowns. Godwin has 511 receiving yards off 33 receptions. The biggest catalyst for Godwin’s success is the continuous double teams his counterpart Mike Evans attracts on a weekly basis. This helps him avoid his own double teams and make plays in single coverage, which he’s doing consistently. In week two, the last meeting between the Panthers and Buccaneers, Godwin went for 8 receptions, 121 receiving yards, and a touchdown. Expect a similar performance from the Penn St. standout.

Honorable mentions: Keenan Allen (LAC)

Facts to Know:

  • Only one game this year where Hooper has less than 6 receptions
  • Targeted second most behind Julio Jones
  • Arizona Cardinals defense against Tight Ends is ranked 32nd

The Atlanta Falcons have shown they love to throw the ball, and this week they are facing one of the worst defenses against tight ends. Hooper should dominate this week as he only has one game where he has under six receptions. He is targeted second most on the team, just two targets behind Julio Jones. Hooper has been a focal point in Atlanta’s offense all season in his contract year, so why wouldn’t the Falcons try to exploit Arizona’s defense and keep Hooper heavily involved in the passing game this week as well.

Honorable Mentions: Travis Kelce (KC)

Facts To Know:

  • Has three touchdowns rushing and three receiving (6 total TDs are t-3rd most in NFL)
  • Second most targeted player on the Chargers
  • Pittsburgh’s defense is ranked 19th against Running Backs

Austin Ekeler has stepped up big with Melvin Gordon not returning back to the team until two weeks ago. The reason why Ekeler is in the flex is because of Gordon coming back, but he has proven in the weeks since Gordon’s return that he can still produce his normal numbers. What makes Ekeler stand out as a fantasy option is his ability to catch out of the backfield, and at a high volume. Last week with the return of Gordon fully, Ekeler still managed to catch the ball 15 times for 86 yards. He did not get as many rushes since the Chargers were losing right off the bat. Facing the Steelers this week on Primetime, the Chargers will be on a mission to get back to .500, with Ekeler being a valuable asset in all aspects of their offensive game.

Honorable Mentions: WR Michael Thomas (NO)
