The Eastern Conference finalists are coming off a tough act to follow with an OT thriller to kickstart this competitive ECF matchup. This time, the Heat and Celtics ended the event in regulation, in-part to Jimmy Butler who exerted high-energy play on defense late in the game which smothered the Celtics. Jayson Tatum put down a vengeful jam over Bam. Add in a flurry of scoring from the Heat’s leading scorer Goran Dragic, and Bam Adebayo dismantling Boston’s defensive scheme to give Miami a substantial 2-0 lead in the series.

The crew from South Beach have been comfortable in the in-state bubble hoisting a 10-1 record thus far in the playoffs. Their final surge in the closing moments of Game 2 secured a major W which puts them firmly in the driver’s seat of the East’s Finals representative as the Heat have never lost a playoff series after being up 2-0 (15-0).

All-NBA Third Team member Jayson Tatum broke free from Jae Crowder’s straitjacket late in Thursday’s contest and had the hops to rise above the clouds with a safe two-handed dunk that Bam couldn’t get a piece of this time.

Expert-pilot Bam Adebayo took flight on offense with countless rolls to the rim for strong takes inside which were guided by his teammates that led him to the promised land on crowded runways.

Kemba Walker got off to a hot start Thursday, scoring-wise, but he did not neglect his duties as head assist man as he added to his career highlight reel with this wicked wrap-around dime to Daniel Theis.

Young-gun Jaylen Brown didn’t bother looking both ways before he crossed the street on this first play as he ran into traffic to absorb the offensive rebound over two Heat defenders and put the ball straight back up with no hesitation to knot up the game during the final stretch. He followed that up with a couple of clutch trey’s to keep the C’s in the game.

The Celtics, who were supposed to have home-court advantage, lost for the second time to the hustle-heavy Heat as Boston and Miami tangoed across the hardwood in a seesaw affair. Game 1’s game-saving block artist, Bam Adebayo, rolled to the rim with force to bring the Heat back from down 17 points. Game 2 was capped off by a string of high IQ steals from Jimmy Butler down the stretch that put his Heat over the top to walk away unscathed with a 2-0 lead and a 10-1 overall postseason record.
