Another rescheduling crisis due to COVID postponements moved the Chiefs vs. Bills game to early Monday evening, providing fans with a Monday night doubleheader for the third time this season. KC showed that they could win with their run game in addition to their aerial attack, boasting a whopping 245 total rush yards in a 26-17 victory against a Bills defense that was without starting LB Matt Milano once again. The standard MNF matchup of the night, Cardinals vs. Cowboys, was a total blowout where ARI just pummeled DAL on both sides of the ball as Dallas got a bitter first taste of life without Dak Prescott.

1. A mistake-free K1 makes Cardinals contenders

When Kyler Murray has turned the ball over in games this season, it has been pretty indicative on how the Cardinals perform overall. When he doesn’t commit those costly mistakes and makes big plays, everything is shines much brighter in Arizona. Minus some early missed throws, K1 was relatively mistake-free throughout the game. His deep ball was on the mark as he was able to connect with Christian Kirk on an 80-yd TD and later with DeAndre Hopkins on a 60-yd strike. Murray’s performance going forward will very much dictate how successful the Cardinals are and whether they can make a playoff push as they look like real contenders when he can leave the rookie mistakes back in Year 1.

2. Chiefs look like the best-coached team in the league

Andy Reid secured his spot as one of the best coaches of all-time after winning Super Bowl 54 as he’s also one of the greatest offensive geniuses the game has ever seen. No matter what challenge KC is faced with, Reid always seems to have a masterful gameplay drawn up to help the Chiefs move the ball up and down the field. He can’t take all the credit though, as all three coordinators — offensive, defensive, and special teams — have been incredibly consistent throughout their own respective careers as they’re all prime HC prospects.

Even when Big Red was as angry as he’s been recorded being (after Mahomes 1st down attempt was short), he responds with a play call on 4th and inches that went for a score. This team has lacked consistency against the weaker competition, but when it’s a top-tier opponent that Kansas City could face in January, Reid ensures the reigning champs are better prepared with a galore of innovative play-calls ready to be dialed up.

3. KC is adding another winning facet to their elite arsenal

As a rookie, Clyde Edwards-Helaire has looked the part of a premier RB, giving the Chiefs some consistency in the running game to help open up their already lethal aerial game. Even though they were already sitting pretty nicely at RB, KC really upped the ante when they signed Le’Veon Bell four days ago after he was released by the Jets. The duo of Edwards-Helaire and Bell has all the makings of one of the best rushing attacks in the league now and competes with the likes of Cleveland’s RB duo in Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. As the rich get richer, it’s scary to think about where this team can go and the heights they can reach with an offense that can win games in a variety ways.

The Kansas City Chiefs offensive scheme continues to evolve every week and will be the center of attention next Sunday when Le’Veon Bell makes his KC debut against the Broncos. Signed just four days ago, Bell wasn’t able to suit up tonight against the Bills but Clyde Edwards-Helaire took care of business and he will look to do the same alongside his new counterpart in a marquee AFC West matchup. Look for Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy to have a field day next Sunday coming up with a game plan considering his wealth of weapons.

In one of the more competitive divisions in the league, the Arizona Cardinals, now 4-2, sit tied for second place in the NFC West alongside the Los Angeles Rams. Albeit against a shaky Dallas defense, this win was huge for the Cards as it kept them in contention with the rest of their division. They have a tougher test next week against division rival Seattle, so if they can pull off a win against them it would be massive as it would put them within half a game of the division lead. Kyler Murray has had some trouble with turning the ball over this season, but if he remains mistake-free and has a performance that is at all similar to tonight’s, then ARI has a good chance of taking down the ‘Hawks, who still will are without their top defensive player Jamal Adams and haven’t looked good on that side of the ball even with the All-Pro in the lineup.
