1
MR. IRRELEVANT

BROCK PURDY FACTS:

– Drafted with the final pick (262nd) of the 2022 NFL Draft

Trey Lance & Jimmy Garoppolo both suffered major injuries

– Purdy went 6-0 in regular season games he played 50+% of

Any player drafted in the 200s is much more likely to be cut than to ever be a valuable contributor, which makes it even more surprising that Brock Purdy was able to become a starter in just his first year and got dub after dub after dub ever since emerging as Kyle Shanahan’s new QB1. Mr. Irrelevant stepped right in for a title-contending 49ers team and didn’t miss a beat, leading them to a division title and a deep playoff run.

2
NEW YORK JETS & GIANTS

NEW YORK TEAMS FACTS:

– Both NY teams hired a new HC within the last 2 years

– Daniel Jones went from TO machine to only 5 INT in 2022

– Jets started the season 7-4 before a 6-game losing streak

Both New York teams entered 2022 with low expectations under new regimes and young QBs. However, the Jets and Giants were instead right in the thick of the Playoff races with NYG clinching their first Postseason in six years. Daniel Jones stopped turning the ball over while the Jets built one of the NFL’s best overall rosters besides the QB position and could be one player away from title contention after years of being basement dwellers.

3
SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS FACTS:

– Traded away Russell Wilson | Geno Smith made a Pro Bowl

– Vegas had SEA as a bottom-5 team entering 2022 (6.5 Wins)

– Seahawks clinched the final Playoff spot in the 2022 season

After trading away Russell Wilson, the Seahawks somehow turned Geno Smith into a franchise QB 10 years after being drafted. GM John Schneider should be the unanimous Executive of the Year after CRUSHING the 2022 Draft, hitting on all six of his first picks (OT Charles Cross, ED Boye Mafe, RB Kenneth Walker, OT Abraham Lucas, CB Coby Bryant, CB Tariq Woolen).

4
AFC WEST

AFC WEST FACTS:

Davante Adams, Russell Wilson, & Khalil Mack all acquired

– Chiefs traded away Tyreek Hill but still won the AFC

Derek Carr went from franchise QB to getting benched

The AFC West was getting hyped up among the best divisions ever entering 2022 with multiple Super Bowl-winning QBs and all four teams boasting Pro Bowl signal-callers. Instead of all four teams being playoff contenders, the Raiders & Broncos finished with top-10 picks while the Chargers barely snuck into the dance before blowing a massive lead to the…Jaguars.

5
MINNESOTA VIKINGS

MINNESOTA VIKINGS FACTS:

– 11-0 in 1-score games during regular season; 0-1 in Playoffs

Kirk Cousins had 10-19 record (35%) in Primetime games

– Had the largest comeback (33 points) in NFL history vs. IND

Minnesota had a truly thrilling season in 2022 with games coming down to the wire on a weekly basis. The Vikings pulled off the largest comeback in NFL history but all their clutch wins and close calls proved to be fraudulent after getting upset by the Giants in the Wild Card round. They still finished the season a surprising 13-4 with a division title.
