Here is the best from January 20, 2020:

Damian Lillard had the best regular season game of his career on a national holiday with his sidekick CJ McCollum unavailable. It was truly a performance to remember for anyone watching the late-night West Coast game.

The King has ‘throned’ many during his illustrious career, but on MLK Day 2020, it was Jaylen Brown who throned the King.

In another CP3-Russ matchup between their old teams, both players shined on MLK Day, but James Harden’s unbelievable inefficiency was too much for Houston to overcome during OKC’s 15-pt 4th quarter comeback.

Ben Simmons did something on MLK Day that has never been done before on any day in NBA history, while Russell Westbrook joined the King as the only 2 players EVER with a triple-double vs. every team.

In addition to Simmons’ amazing triple-double, Furkan Korkmaz hit the dagger to essentially clinch the Sixers win on Monday.

The Miami Heat-Sacramento Kings would’ve easily won Game of the Day on most days, but Martin Luther King Jr. Day isn’t most days and the OKC-HOU comeback earned those honors (as mentioned above). Still, this game featured a thrilling ending that led to OT where the Heat are now a NBA-best 7-0 in the extra period.

Monday was one of the best MLK Days in recent memory with an abundance of close and entertaining games. There were 14 games on Monday, and over half of them (8) were within 5 points in the final few minutes. It was a MLK Day to Remember.

Ice Trae heated up for his 7th 40-pt game of the season, but Norman Powell’s 4th quarter takeover led the reigning champs to the victory.

Kemba Walker entered this Celtics-Lakers matchup with a career 0-28 record vs. LeBron James-led teams. That was all in Charlotte, though. Walker and the C’s gang showed that was just a North Carolina thing, as Boston decimated LA in primetime, spoiling AD’s comeback from a 2-week absence.

King Felix had a spectacular reign in Seattle earlier in his career, but that reign is officially over now that he’s signed with Atlanta.
