Here is the best from October 19, 2019:

Jose Altuve is a living legend. A remarkable representation of the game and a hero for the city of Houston. The 29-year-old still has a lot of MVP-caliber play and iconic moments left in the tank.

In the biggest game most recent Yankees fans have witnessed their team play in, DJ LeMahieu launched the biggest hit possible, tying the game with their backs against the wall in the 9th inning. Of course, Altuve’s HR later in the inning nullified LeMahieu’s heroics.

The Canadian hero and 2018-19 Most Improved Player is now the Toronto Raptors highest paid player and presumably the face of the franchise for the next 5+ years.

After struggling through Games 1-5 to get his hard hits to fall in the gap, Gurriel didn’t rely on ‘hitting it where they ain’t’. He just hit it where they couldn’t get it. And it gave Houston a lead the Yankees couldn’t catch up to until the very last inning.

If George Springer got up a couple more inches on LeMahieu’s HR, this might’ve been #1 on the Best in Sports as the biggest story of the day, but even without a legendary HR-robbery, the Astros fantastic defense was on full display in Game 6.

The NBA put out its best plays, dunks, blocks, and more of the Preseason. Here’s the best:

Gio Urshela was one of the Yankees unsung heroes all year, and proved it again in Game 6 with a phenomenal game on both sides of the ball, that also included the leadoff hit in the 9th inning to spark New York’s epic comeback.

The Yankees being eliminated before the World Series once again cemented a few records that might seem crazy to digest for any long-time Yankees fans.

The Astros needed two walk-off HRs to take down the Evil Empire. If those went the other way, we’d be anticipating a Yankees-Nationals World Series in a few days. Instead, Carlos Correa and Jose Altuve lifted Houston to their 2nd World Series in 3 years as they attempt to begin the “dynasty” talk.
