LONZO BALL’S DEVELOPED JUMPER IS ELEVATING HIS GAME TO THE NEXT LEVEL
Before Lonzo Ball was drafted to the Los Angeles Lakers, skeptics were worried about his weird jump-shot form and whether or not that would translate to the NBA game. Early in his career, the critics seemed to be right. Ball shot an abysmal 30.5% from the three-point line in his rookie season, and 36% from the field, not to mention his Shaq-esque 45.1% free throw percentage.
Since his rookie year, Ball has improved his three-point percentage by 8%, his two-point percentage by 7.7%, his overall shooting percentage by 6.5%, and his free-throw percentage by a staggering 31.6%. Ball has been proving his haters wrong as he has continued to develop, and has shown that he can have an effective jump shot that makes him a threat in all aspects of the game. His improvements were on full display during Sunday night’s clash with Houston.
Ball made eight three pointers, which is his career-high. He also tallied nine assists, making him the first player in franchise history to make 8+ three-pointers and record 8+ assists in the same game. This is even more impressive considering it was his first game back since March 18th because of a hip injury. It seemed like that time away from the game may have unlocked something. Ball’s tired of his jump-shot critics, and used that energy as motivation to improve his stroke and become an all-around weapon on the court.
