Nets sweep LA road trip after Kawhi’s questionable offensive foul on Harden
Just days after defeating the Lakers, the Nets wrapped up a perfect 5-0 road trip vs. the Western Conference with a 112-108 win over the Clippers. It didn’t come without controversy, though. Holding on to a 110-108 lead after the Clippers made a late rally, Kawhi Leonard was called for a questionable offensive on foul on James Harden on his way to the basket for the game-tying layup. The call wound up sealing the game, as Harden iced two free throws to give the Nets an insurmountable four-point lead with seconds remaining.
Harden finished with a game-high 37 points along with 11 rebounds while Kyrie Irving dropped 28 points and a game-high eight assists. However, late in the game, it felt like Irving was doing too much. He shot the ball seven times with only one make during the final 5:18 of play, as his inefficient play nearly cost Brooklyn the win with Uncle Drew in hero mode.
A win is a win, though, and the Nets have been getting plenty of those recently. With victories over both LA squads and a current six-game winning streak (all without Kevin Durant besides the victory over his former team in the Bay), Brooklyn all of a sudden looks like the best team in the NBA, especially with the uncertainty surrounding the health of Lakers F Anthony Davis.
