June 24th featured the record-tying seventh no-hitter of the MLB season with the Cubs blanking the defending champ Dodgers with four different pitchers. Reggie Jackson went off for the Clips last night as they once again won Game 3 after going down 0-2. At the end of the third quarter, Paul George hit a halfcourt shot on his way to 27 points. Vikings OT Brian O’Neill is a prime candidate to have a breakout year. June 24th was the 22nd anniversary of Tim Duncan leading the Spurs to their first title.

Here is the best of the day from June 24, 2021:

Cubs combine for no-hitter vs. defending champs to tie all-time MLB record

The defending champ Dodgers are on a 4-game skid, after being swept by their divisonal rival Fernando Tatis Jr. and the Padres, they returned home to play the Cubs. The Dodgers faced SP Zach Davies who pitched for 6 innings and surrendered no hits, while even getting one of his own.

The Cubs 3 relievers Ryan Tepera, Andrew Chafin, and Craig Kimbrel each pitched 1 inning without any hits allowed to give the Cubs their first combined no-no in franchise history. The seventh no-hitter of the season ties the MLB record less than halfway through the season. Despite the no-hitter, the Dodgers still got walked eight times throughout the game and only struck out sevn times.

REGGIE JACKSON WILL BE THE NBA’S BEST AVAILABLE FA IF HE LIFTS CLIPS TO THE TITLE

The Clippers did what they do best on Thursday night, and that’s win Game 3 when they fall behind 2-0 like they have every series this postseason so far. LA came out of the halftime break with an outstanding third quarter, putting them up double-digits, and they were able to see it through until the final whistle. Devin Booker and CP3 were held in check, combining for only 10-40 FG. Paul George and Reggie Jackson combined for 50 points, while Ivica Zubac added a double-double. The series will stay in LA for Game 4 in two days.

Reggie Jackson has been playing some of his best basketball when it matters the most. He’s been on a tear this postseason, fresh off a 23-point outing in Game 3 of the WCF including 10 in the fourth quarter. Additionally, Jackson is shooting the ball at an extremely high clip while coming up clutch and knocking down big shots over and over again.

These performances could earn him some big money this offseason as he will be a free agent. With Kawhi Leonard and Chris Paul very likely to re-sign with their respective teams, Jackson could be the most valuable free agent this summer if he helps bring LAC its first title in franchise history with these kinds of signature showings.
