In a somewhat shocking development, one of the best GMs in basketball Danny Ainge stepped down from his position after an 18-year tenure with one of the most storied franchises in sports. A man who was once seen as one of the brightest young minds in the game, Brad Stevens will no longer be a Head Coach as he transitions into the front office in what is a major shakeup in Beantown.

Luka had another monster game vs. the Clippers to keep his hot playoff start going, Trae Young took a bow in NY, and Ja Morant made history during his final game of the season. No franchise improved more than the Knicks this past year and June 2nd marks the day when the Tigers only Perfect game was robbed by a bad call

Here is the best of the day from June 2, 2021:

Celtics shake up the front office with Danny Ainge retiring and HC Brad Stevens moving to GM

The Boston Celtics have been one of the most successful sports franchises over the last two decades since Danny Ainge took over with only the San Antonio Spurs reaching the playoffs as many times as Boston in that time period. However, after seven straight NBA Playoffs trips without a single NBA Finals appearance, GM Danny Ainge decided to call it a career with HC Brad Stevens taking over as his predecessor. Stevens will help the front office search for a new Head Coach who has one of the best young tandems to work with and a long history of franchise success to build upon.

LUKA DONCIC’S PLAYOFF CAREER IS OFF TO THE GREATEST START EVER

The Dallas Mavericks took Game 5 in LA, as all five winners of this series have been on the road. Luka Doncic continued his stellar series with a game-high 42 points, while Kawhi Leonard and Paul George combined for 43, yet struggled down the stretch with crucial turnovers and airballs. One win in the next two games will put Luka in his first ever second-round series. Doncic has now played in 11 playoff games, and has tore it up in every single one as he resets the record books after a blazing hot start to his NBA playoff career.

The 22-year-old Slovenian is averaging 32.8 points per game in his playoff career. This is second to only Michael Jordan himself. He’s also tallied three triple-doubles in his 11 playoff games. Luka’s big performances game after game now have Dallas in a great position to knock off one of the top contenders in the West, the LA Clippers.

With Doncic doing it all for the Mavs and being atop of many leaderboards regarding players new to the playoffs, he is proving to have the best start to a playoff career ever with the records and facts to prove it. He’s led his team outright in points, rebounds, and assists more than any player through his 1st taste of postseason action and has fully proven that no matter if its the bubble or the Staples Center, no stage is too big or too bright for the Slovenian Sensation.
