LaMarcus Aldridge decided to join the Brooklyn Nets
LaMarcus Aldridge signed with the Brooklyn Nets for the rest of the season on Saturday after the 35-year-old agreed to a contract buyout with the San Antonio Spurs. Aldridge will team up with former All-Star Blake Griffin, who Brooklyn recently signed after he was bought out by Detroit, as front court reinforcements in the Nets’ pursuit of the franchise’s first championship.
In 15 seasons in the NBA (nine with Portland, six with San Antonio), Aldridge averaged 19.4 points and 8.3 rebounds per game while hitting 49.1% FG and a spectacular 81.1% FT as a big man. He has earned seven All-Star appearances and five All-NBA nods. His addition makes Brooklyn the odds-on favorite to win the title, especially with the injury concerns the Lakers are currently dealing with.
