THE YOUNG JAYS ARE PRIMED TO BECOME BOSTON’S BEST DUO OF ALL-TIME

The partnership between Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum entered its fifth season last night, with both stars seemingly ready to cement themselves as elite talents in today’s NBA. Their time together has produced runs to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2018 and 2020, coupled with disappointing early playoff exits in 2019 and 2021. Former coach Brad Stevens replaced Danny Ainge in an executive role, and the team hired former Nets assistant Ime Udoka, who appears ready to maximize their potential.
Tatum already has multiple All-Star appearances to his name, while Brown appeared for the first time last season. The Celtics franchise has raised 17 NBA championship banners and had very potent duos, such as Bill Russell–Bob Cousy and Paul Pierce–Kevin Garnett, but they all won titles. Brown and Tatum have not made it to the NBA Finals yet, but based on pure talent, two-way potential, and ability to dominate a game, there is legitimate reason to think that this new Celtics duo could make history of their own.
