August 2nd, 2021 was remembered for NBA Free Agency Day 1 where the Miami Heat added Kyle Lowry while re-signing F/G Duncan Robinson to the largest contract ever for an UDFA, and agreeing to extend Jimmy Butler. The Phoenix Suns brought back Chris Paul while Cleveland did the same with Jarrett Allen, and Utah re-signed PG Mike Conley. New York Knicks extended three of their own guys (D-Rose, Burks, Noel) while also adding Evan Fournier. Chicago also added former Lakers Guards Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso.

1970: Baltimore Orioles defeated the Kansas City Royals for their 23rd consecutive victory in the series, an MLB record that still stands today

1968: After being involved in a 6-player trade between the teams in February, Washington Senators SS Ron Hansen and White Sox 2B Tim Cullen were traded for each other, becoming the very 1st pair to be swapped for each other twice in a season
