1987: Lakers PG Magic Johnson used teammate Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s patented sky hook as time expired to defeat the Celtics 107-106 in Game 4 to take a 3-1 series lead

1985: As the Lakers defeated the Celtics in 6 games to win their 9th NBA Championship, C Kareem Abdul-Jabbar became the oldest player to ever be named Finals MVP at 38 years old and the first to win the award on 2 different teams (1971 w/ Milwaukee)

1980: Celtics GM Red Auerbach completed a notorious trade with the Warriors in which Boston received C Robert Parish and a 1980 1st round pick (which would be used on PF Kevin McHale) for a pair of 1st-rounders in 1980 (Joe Barry Carroll, Rickey Brown). Parish & McHale both became Hall of Famers for Boston. 

1966: The Twins became the 1st team in AL history to hit 5 home runs in a single inning as Rich Rollins, Zoilo Versailles, Tony Oliva, Don Mincher, and Harmon Killebrew all homered in the 7th inning

1914: Pirates SS Honus Wagner became just the 2nd player in MLB history to record 3,000 career hits (Cap Anson)
