2012: The NBA announced their removal of the Center position from the All-Star ballot, instead opting for 3 “frontcourt” players which reflected the transformation of the NBA game into more “position-less” basketball

2000: New York Jets pulled off a “Monday Night Miracle”, coming back from a 30-7 4th quarter deficit to defeat the 5-1 Miami Dolphins 40-37 with a GW-FG in OT

1996: After trailing the Atlanta Braves 6-0, OF Bernie Williams hit a 3-run home run in the 8th inning to tie Game 4; the Yankees won in the 10th inning as 3B Wade Boggs drew a go-ahead, bases-loaded walk. New York would come back from a 2-0 series deficit to win their 1st of 4 World Series’ in a 5-year span

1993: Toronto Blue Jays OF Joe Carter became the only player to hit a walk-off home run during Game 6 to win a World Series in MLB history as his iconic GW-HR helped Toronto win consecutive Championships over the Atlanta Braves & Philadelphia Phillies

1967: New Jersey Americans (New York/New Jersey/Brooklyn Nets) lost their ABA debut 110-107 to the Pittsburgh Pipers

1960: Cleveland Browns RB Jim Brown broke the record for the most career RUSH YDS in franchise history. Brown played 9 seasons for the Browns and won 3 MVP awards en route to 12,312 RUSH YDS which still stands as the franchise record today

1945: Brooklyn Dodgers signed 1B Jackie Robinson to a minor league contract, assigning him to the Montreal Royals

1921: Green Bay Packers made their AFPA (NFL) debut, defeating the Minneapolis Marines 7-6
