After being drafted third overall by the Anaheim Angels in the 1997 June Amateur draft, Troy Glaus made his MLB debut one year later, playing 48 games in 1998. In his third season, he became an All-Star and a Silver Slugger, batting .284 and slugging 47 HRs. Glaus recorded 41 HRs his next season and repeated as an All-Star and Silver Slugger which set the tone for an illustrious Angels career.

In 2005, Glaus signed with the Diamondbacks for four years but was ultimately traded after just one season with the team. He would play two seasons for the Blue jays and then two more seasons for the Cardinals before retiring in 2010 as an Atlanta Brave. However, his legacy will always be remembered for his time in Anaheim as the most productive 3rd Baseman in franchise history.

TROY GLAUS IS THE GREATEST 3RD BASEBALL IN ANGELS FRANCHISE HISTORY

Troy Glaus played 827 games for the Angels and became an Angels legend after hitting the most season HR in franchise history in just his third season. Glaus did not stop there, as Glaus was a 3x All-Star, 2x Silver Slugger and recorded the most HR in franchise history by a third basemen.

Among other third basemen in Angels franchise history, Glaus has the most HR, Runs, TB, BB, XBH, OPS, and SLG. While Glaus is a top-10 hitter ever for the Angels, it is easy to say that he is the greatest third basemen that the franchise has ever seen and would easily be the starter at the hot corner for the franchise’s all-time team.

  • Glaus would hit tanks

  • He had that clutch factor

  • Angels only WS title fueled by Glaus
