Yu Darvish got his start in the MLB after accepting the highest bidding offer from the Texas Rangers in 2011; he would make his MLB debut in 2012. Darvish was an All-Star his first three years in the league, and led all SP in Ks during 2013 with 277. Darvish was forced to miss the entirety of the 2015 season and some of the 2016 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery, but would come back in 2017 to once again be voted to play in the midsummer classic game.

In 2017, Darvish was traded to the Dodgers for a plethora of prospects. His time in LA ended after a rough World Series run, and he signed a six-year deal with the Chicago Cubs. Yu broke out during the 2020 shortened season, going 8-3 on the bump and finishing second for the NL Cy Young Award. In the 2020 offseason, Yu Darvish along with catcher Victor Caratini were traded to the Padres where he made his fifth MLB All-Star appearance.

YU DARVISH IS ONE OF THE BEST STRIKEOUT ARTISTS IN BASEBALL HISTORY

Yu Darvish is constantly keeping hitters off-balance and with 11 different pitches, there is no chance the batter knows what is coming. Along with already racking up 1,550+ Ks, and being the fastest SP to record 1,500 Ks, Darvish also has 1,250 Ks in Japan over seven seasons playing professionally with the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters

He has thrown for 200+ Ks in a season four times, including his rookie year where he finished in the top-10 in Cy Young voting. Yu Darvish has been striking out pro hitters since he was 18 years old on an absurd amount of different pitches. His remarkable repertoire, pinpoint command, and abundance of records already makes him one of the best strikeout artists in baseball history.
