As Milwaukee Bucks fans celebrate 2021 NBA Champion Khris Middleton on his 31st birthday, check out some of the best records to know about the legendary Small Forward.

Taken out of Texas A&M by Detroit with the 39th overall pick in 2012, most fans and scouts had little to no NBA expectations for Khris Middleton. Although he put up solid scoring numbers throughout college and displayed tremendous mid-range shooting skill, a lack of elite athleticism and poor three-point accuracy caused many to doubt his potential. The Charleston native’s rookie year was uneventful, as he averaged 6 PPG on only 17 MPG. Detroit didn’t waste any time in trading him to Milwaukee, where a fresh start would change his career.

Middleton immediately made a huge jump his first year with Milwaukee, doubling his scoring average and raising his three-point shooting efficiency. This would be a sign of things to come, as the South Carolina native became a lethal isolation scorer and shooter over the following years. Combined with emerging superstar unicorn Giannis Antetokounmpo from Greece, MIL had a dynamic duo that transformed them into a perennial championship contender. The Bucks’ all-star pairing would win their first playoff series in 2019 and never look back.

Following two disappointing playoff defeats in 2019 and 2020, Milwaukee finally broke out in 2021 by beating Phoenix to win the franchise’s first title since 1971. Khris had his best playoff run and silenced the “choker” narrative he was briefly labeled with, after dropping 40 points in a pivotal Finals Game 4, one of his several all-time scoring performances during the Bucks’ championship run. Once an overlooked second round pick, Middleton used his savvy isolation scoring, lights-out shooting stroke, and two-way skillset to forge a fantastic NBA career.
